My favorite tool for understanding the world in a multi side, unbiased way. The app works very well.
The removal of editing from mobile has destroyed my workflow. I’ve been thinking of moving for a while to another platform, but this update has done it for me. Medium is greedy and not at all about the content creator, no vanity URLs anymore, terrible stats - the one thing (other than inertia) that kept me here was the editor. I’d write on the desktop, occasionally on the go and then for photo heavy content like I produce, pop to mobile to upload the images direct. Now I can’t do that and frankly there’s no reason to keep using this software anymore. What a shame.
After a day of use after I had saved some articles done some reading etc I get a prompt to start a trial in order to continue to use the app properly. This is really scummy behaviour and that’s why the bad review if you wanted money you should have asked it in the first place. Other than that amazing work ui and ux wise and
The app keeps freezing on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. It is very annoying to have to quit the app several times just to finish an article.
The app offer a very good reading experience and a lot of articles to read.
When I try to scroll in home page (with article tabs) the app freezes for a second, then scrolls a little, then freezes again and it's shuts down unexpectedly. iPhone se 2020 user, all software updates have been made.
Flipboard used to be a great app, and in some ways still is. However, much needed improvements have failed to materialize for years on end. - news filtering / feed customization is absolutely useless Zite back in the day, used to be amazing in this area. Since Flipboard acquired them, there was hope hope they would incorporate their technology. Half a decade later, this has not materialized. Case in point: Despite being an active user and frequently reporting back, I regularly keep getting irrelevant stories in my feeds. E.g. music news in my cycling feeds, and celebrity news in space science feeds? - iPad app: dead in the water. While the iPhone version has seen some minor improvements over the years, none of them have appeared on the iPad. You cannot create dynamic magazines, you don’t get to mark a report with what is wrong about a story, new UI layout on phone has not been ported over, etc., etc. - reader mode: on iOS, this essential feature that you get for free via Safari, is still not made available. This makes reading long articles so much easier and is also an essential accessibility feature. It’s a mystery as to why Flipboard is still not adding this. Loved using this app but I’m done waiting. Bye, bye Flipboard.
So it’s awesome app for reading posts but lately can’t log in via Facebook.
I really like medium, in fact I chose it to write stories daily. If there is one thing I’d like to be improved it’s night mode. If you could also make the keyboard dark while writing the story it’d be great. Because the bright light is a bit blinding.
