Difficult to use

Difficult to set up, connect payments, and I received an automated email telling me my account will be deleted due to unfinished set-up… I believe this is in error and I have finished the process. When I email for support, I don’t get a reply though! Waiting to see if my account is complete or will be deleted, although finding nothing in the app indicating I have an unfinished profile.

Worst Organization Ever!

This is the worst company I have ever been involved with. I had all the problems others mentioned with the profile not working right and other issues too. I had to pay 7.99 to respond to ONE client who I never heard from. Then I noticed on my bank statement they charged me the $7.99 twice- same date and time. I emailed them many times to get a refund and NO ONE EVER responded. I finally just let my bank look into it and they refunded my money NOT Meela. Then I paid the $4.99 monthly to respond to clients and again never heard from any. I canceled my membership but was still charged $4.99 the next month and again wouldn’t respond to request for refund. I went through and canceled a second time and just decided to cut my losses and go. I strongly DO NOT recommend.

No way to create an account

I paid my subscription and it still said I couldn’t create my profile. It keeps giving me errors and won’t let me log in. They say you get 24/7 support and I’ve been trying to get ahold of someone for the last 3 days. Otherwise, I think the app is a great idea and am looking forward to connecting w the birthing community.

Good app still a few things to work out

It’s an awesome concept and everything has been very user friendly, except that as a doula it doesn’t show you if the customer has reached out to a pro already. And very old posts don’t disappear once the due date is past. These features would make it even more helpful on our end. Thank you! Update April 2023: So, I have yet to get their method of payment to work, and have not found anyway, contact them to fix it. When I search my area on the website my profile doesn’t show up, only 2 other profiles. Why is this? Also, as of 3 days ago, there have been no new clients in the search function in any of the areas. Something is not working, and there isn’t a way to reach out to get it resolved. I’m starting to feel like it’s not worth it. Hope someone sees this and gets things working again.

I tried to contact the app so many times that I have issues connecting Meela to my Stripe account but I never got a response. Still waiting for help. It’s been 6 months.

Hoping the developers are working to improve things

I like the idea of this, but right now, as a doula I have no idea of my $5 a month membership is making me any more visible to people in my area. When I search my zip code people come up that are much farther than I am and I don’t see myself at all. I will give it probably another month and then cancel if nothing changes.

I really do. But having an app should make it easy to make a profile for both clients and doulas IN the app. Having to go to a webpage to create a doula profile seems silly when the app is geared for birth work. And the webpage is glitchy, so you’ll likely have to fill out the profile form more than once, and some info required is not necessary. After the webpage deleted my profile form twice on “complete” I gave up. I’ve received so many emails about it being incomplete/inactive, and any time I’ve replied with this information and concern, it’s radio silence. The concept is great, but it’s not being executed well.

I have been with Hello Meela for just a couple weeks as a professional seeking birth and postpartum doula opportunities. Each time I have reached out to the Meela team with a question (which has been often), they have ALWAYS responded to my questions and not only responded, they have responded in a very timely manner! They even communicated with me on the Labor Day Holiday which was a pleasant surprise!

The app might be alright, but Meela in general is terrible.

Every inquiry I get is for somebody way out of my area and not in my price range. When Jayleen emailed me asking if I had any feedback, I responded with my concerns and questions, and I received no response. Then I get another email, saying that I hadn’t responded to her first email. Again, I responded with my questions and concerns. I’ve never heard back. I’ve tried to cancel my profile and account and that’s not possible. Plus, as someone else mentioned, it’s impossible to make changes on my profile. I’m so disappointed in this service and I just want to get out of it now.
