Description

The Melbourne Pollen App provides Victorians with pollen forecasts generated using real-world pollen count data collected from our statewide network of monitoring sites.
You can use the Melbourne Pollen App to track your hay fever symptoms to figure out which pollen types are triggering your symptoms. Our notification system can alert you when grass pollen levels in your area are high, helping you plan your activities.

Since the November 2016 thunderstorm asthma event, Melbourne Pollen has worked closely with the Victorian Department of Health and Bureau of Meteorology to develop and implement a Thunderstorm Asthma forecast system to minimize the impact that any future epidemic thunderstorm asthma events may have on the community and the Victorian health system. Our notification system can alert you to forecasts of thunderstorm asthma in your area.

A flaccid and dated app

daisyross399 on

Tried this out but it’s UI is dull, it’s missing contemporary features such as geolocation checking for pollen highs as I travel about and just doesn’t provide the concise information dump that a website like tomorrow.op provides.

Notifications begging for money

BozoBubbedOver on

This app will send you notifications asking for donations even after opting out “other topics” in the settings.

Fantastic

I highly recommend this app, especially for Asthma & Hay fever sufferers. Love the survey too!

Very helpful

That would have been even more helpful if the app forecasted the pollen count for the rest of the week.

Badly needed

Great to have. Works. But very basic

Let’s be honest- we love having access to the day A, but the app looks like it was written by a professor who googled “how to create an app” It’s from melbourne uni. Can’t the computer science department take it on as a regular final year project or something?

Please have iOS Shortcuts integration.

Too many ads and confusing interface

Why did you delete my previous review? There are too many ads which take up too much real estate. The forecast is difficult to find. Too much info hidden behind the very pricey subscription.

Daily Pollen Count

EricYGH on

Have you ever considered why some people, like me, desperately need to know the pollen count at least a couple of days ahead? Some people suffer a lot during the hay fever season, and knowing the pollen count in advance simply helps them prepare better. Have you ever considered why some people even though they depend a lot on your pollen count do not support you financially? Perhaps like me, a 72 yo aged pensioner, they could be in similar situation, or they could be unemployed, disabled, or the disadvantaged. Also, not to mention that hay fever medications are expensive. So I feel it’s unfair that only supporters, ie those who are able to pay, are able to have the advantage of knowing the pollen count in advance. Thank you for your attention. Best regards, Eric Yap
