Melon is easy to onboard and easy to sign up. The unlimited calls are great, but we also need unlimited data or cheaper data bundles because they are too expensive. If you offered lower prices for data or unlimited packages with unlimited data, this would easily be the number 1 network in South Africa.

I can’t imagine a more poorly thought out onboarding. Instructions are largely absent from website and app. If you do the eSIM, you will be up the creek without a paddle. You’ll have sit near WiFi while being given poor instructions over WhatsApp to remedy the problem. Huge budget being spent to advertise this product, with little effort being made to create a smooth onboarding experience. The Head of Product at this company should be replaced.

Update: after using melon for a week, I regularly am without service, even when I have signal. These are problem I did not have when I used my MTN sim prior. I am often without service now and need to find WiFi to conduct business.

### *---- "No way to delete profile with Sign in with Apple"
There was a heritage special that I wanted to sign up for. Unfortunately it seems I can’t sign up as I’m on pay as you go that hadn’t even been fully registered.

In addition I can’t delete my account as I chose to hide my email with Apple’s sign in option.

I’ve seen the street ads around Jozi, but I wouldn’t recommend the company if they can’t even have an in app option to delete my profile through the app rather than sending an email from my personal email.

Had hopes, but not worth the hassle as they needed me to use a physical sim that I need to order from Takealot, even though they have an eSIM option.

I actually have not experienced better customer service and support from an mvno since I started my career in IT about 25 years ago… you guys absolutely rock and you must keep up the good work and kick some Vodabutt! The service is always stable and reliable as it ride on the countries best infrastructure and the integration of the Melon processes with MTN is done so well that I forget I’m dealing with a virtual operator when I deal with Melon Mobile! You guys have always been polite, supportive, and so incredibly efficient to respond to and resolve support queries without disconnecting the customer or having a stupid Tobi bot that keeps bombing out… you guys are going to turn cellular service provision on its head in SA because you do things right. Everywhere every other operator is failing, you guys are passing with flying colours and impressing customers’ pants off! I am actually having a good day just because I dealt with Melon support via WhatsApp and they were patient and resolved everything they said they would. Well done guys and girls, you deserve a damn medal for such excellence!!
