The whole point of using a satnav is to have accurate up to date information about what’s happening on the road. Unfortunately delays, incidents,road closures and diversions often don’t appear at all. It works well when the roads are clear but it becomes unreliable when there are problems. For example when you enter an address it may show a 2 hour journey with 50 minutes of delays. However once you start driving the estimated time suddenly changes to 1 hour and 10 minutes. When a road is closed, it also doesn’t provide a suitable diversion route. As HGV drivers we need to plan our journeys carefully around driving hours and required breaks. This is difficult when the estimated arrival time and road conditions aren’t accurate. I appreciate the effort that is going into adding extra features but the priority should be getting the basics right. We need dependable live road information more than additional features. At the moment I mainly use this app for route planning. Once I start my journey I switch to Google Maps because of these issues. I hope this can be improved soon as the app has a lot of potential. I traveled up to Glasgow from Haydock. All round fantastic when it comes to planning a route, the satellite map helps when needing to find the goods-in entrance of a site. A con I’ve found is when you are driving your calculated route, you can’t zoom in or out on apple car play. Which is annoying as though I can only see about 800m ahead on the satnav, so it doesn’t allow me to plan ahead. It does however allow me to zoom in and out when I haven’t set a calculated route which is weird. Is there something I’m missing or did I inadvertently file a bug report who knows, I’ll change my rating if it gets fixed. Hopefully it gets fixed in the next day or so, as though I only have a 3 day trial. The routing is impeccable and there’s not an address I haven’t found. I go to a lot of obscure farms in Scotland and this has found them all. It has satellite mode too so up there with google maps for finding weird places.
