Microsoft Family Safety Reviews
Useless app
My kids show up on the website but they don’t show up on the app. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, logged out and back in, etc. I’ve been using mac for so long I forgot how awfully glitchy microsoft is with everything. Ugh.
Inaccurate when it works
Wanted this app to perform similar to iOS screen time but my family’s laptop always shows 3-5min of usage when it is used for hours each day. The time limits don’t work properly locking out the device at the wrong times.
I wish it would work as intended. The only function I that seems to work is the manually lock out function.
Ok at best when it works— which is rarely.
Honestly I can’t imagine how a company like Microsoft releases garbage like this. The product team is either grossly incompetent or hugely understaffed. Crashes nonstop, barely works when it isn’t crashing. I’m not sure why I’m even writing this, because the product team must know exactly how terrible it is.
Annoying pop up every time I open it
There’s an alert that something is changing in November every time I open it. Please let me say “don’t show again” so I don’t have to see it every time I open it!
Doesn’t give kids enough warning before locking them out. A one minute warning would avoid so many conflicts.
Being able to manage CATEGORIES of apps would also be nice instead of each app being individually managed.
Awful app
Does anyone who uses this app understand what we are forced to use it for? I try and fail often to use this app to oversee my child's Fortnite account. Big fail.
Crash
The app crashes when you click the 7 day tab. So the 7 day tab is not working.
Seriously Microsoft
What a horrible system. Whoever created Microsoft family should be fired. What a mess!
Perfect option for parents
Easy to use. Great options. Easy to manage. A great app for families helping children manage technology safely.
Most buggy app ever
What should be a rock solid app, maintaining our kids digital safety, instead is the worst app I have on my phone. Continually locks up and does not allow for what is basic usage. Sadly it appears that the IOS development team cannot compete with the Android team… on that device the app so fine (far from refined or intuitive but at least it does not lock up…. On IOS this app is trash!)
Not sure what purpose it serves?
I cannot find a single reason to have downloaded this app. It doesn’t track usage properly. It doesn’t track spending properly. Why is this even downloadable.
