### *---- "What happened to Offline Translations?"
A few years ago, I had downloaded this app to use on an International trip.  The function to download a language for offline use was a great benefit to me and my group.  This app WAS a lifesaver!

Now there does not seems to be the option to download languages for offline use.  Maybe I can’t find it as easily.  If this function is no longer available, this app —which was once a great tool— has become a piece of rubbish in a pile of dung!!

With recent updates they did away with being able to set the language. When attempting to translate from Cantonese, Translator app automatically assumes English instead of Cantonese, even if Cantonese is chosen. 

Use ChatGPT instead. Best option available plus you can give it context before translating

This app has so many features, but it doesn’t have the one feature to learn Chinese pronunciation: pinyin annotations. It’s so relatively easy to add, and even the Bing translate app has it.

I am an ESL teacher and use this app to communicate with my students. Some of my students don’t read in their native languge so the voice feature is very beneficial. Thanks for developing this app! Let me know if teachers are needed to test out any up and coming apps.

This app used to allow for the user to easily check the translation both ways but now it saves the translation and gives canned responses. Diminishing the ability to have and original conversation through the interface

### ****- "Auto-speak translate not working"
I love this app so much it is the only translation app that has Cantonese but I just realized that the auto-speak translate function does not work. I tried it with Spanish and Chinese traditional as well and it doesn’t work with these languages either. Please please fix this issue as it is such a tremendously helpful function! I look forward to seeing this fixed

App just translates Spanish to Spanish when using voice to text . Trying to do Spanish to English but it bugs out and just repeats what I’ve said in Spanish again. Typing it, it works, but speaking glitches out. No bueno

I love this app but unfortunately it does not support Persian language. Persian is one of the beautiful and ancient languages of the world that is spoken by more than 110 million people in Western and Central Asia. Please add this language to your app so I can use it better. Thank you.

The English to Pashto works well. The Pashto to English, however,  does not work. It does not always pick up the correct Pashto words, as well as does not even translate it to English. It is basically gibberish.

### **--- "Text from Participants outside my region not shown"
I am in the US and I wanted to use the app to communicate with colleges in Latin America (Brazil / Mexico).  They can join a conversation I start, but I never see any of their text come through.  No problems with colleges in the US on the same call. Tried having the Brazil and Mexico college start conversation with the same results. WiFi/5G cell, no change. Android/ios, no change.  All of my colleges in the US speak English so I’m having trouble finding much function with this app unless I travel.  Is this related to some sort of network routing limitation? Who knows, haven’t found anything on MS support.

Seriously, Microsoft? No Latin translation?  You know, to help read historical texts or inscriptions on buildings & cathedrals?  Latin is >literally< found all over what used to be called "the Known World."

### ****- "Microphone inoperative"
For the last several days the microphone function of the app was not working. Other translators worked fine as far as the microphone function is concerned. I have been pulling out my hair trying to figure out the problem. Finally, I removed FaceTime from my phone and magically the microphone function has returned. I just installed FaceTime a few days ago. Weird things happen sometimes since I live in China. Please look into the interaction of Microsoft Translate and FaceTime. By the way, the exact same situation occurred on my wife’s Chinese iPhone 14. Removed FaceTime and her translator also functions again. I’ll look out for your reply. I’ll also bump you up to five stars if you reply!

I have been using this app for more than 3-4 years…I used love it but one of the updates took out the function of “Copy” of the English and translated message with a caption of the language name. Like if I am translating from English to Spanish, and when I copy, it used to nicely copy both things with proper language name and the message in that language for example “English: My message in English language” “Spanish: My English message translated in Spanish language”. This feature is gone and I have stopped using the app that much. Please bring back that feature.
