## MilGPS Description
MilGPS is a field navigation tool designed for efficient use by trained navigators using MGRS coordinates. No in-app purchases or subscriptions.

OVERVIEW
- Display your current location and other info in large, clear text on customizable screens.
- Create waypoints using your current location, map crosshairs, distance/direction projection or optimized coordinate entry. Organize waypoints into overlays and navigate to them by following an arrow or on the map.
- Visualize your location and waypoints on a map with smooth scrolling grid lines/labels. Apple and Google online maps are included or supply your own offline maps in raster MBTiles format.
 
OTHER FEATURES
- Supports MGRS, USNG, UTM, Lat/Lon and OSNG location formats.
- Supports a wide variety of map datums including WGS84, NAD27, OSGB36, AGD66 and ED50.
- Use 3 different datums/location formats for location display and waypoint entry.
- Supports a wide variety of angle, altitude, and distance formats.
- Cell phone signal not required for basic navigation functionality. Online maps require a data connection.
- Supports military date time groups for local/zulu time
- Import and export waypoints via the standard GPX file format. Limited support for KML and CSV formats. Routes and tracks not supported.
- Map ruler tool to measure distance/direction between two points on the map, snaps to waypoints

- WiFi-only iPads are not supported because they don't have a GPS receiver.
- Mapping function requires a data connection.

### ***** "Choose waypoint is a game changer !"
The new “Choose waypoint” button is a game changer (for me anyway). It saves on 6 button presses and I use this a lot. It took a while to implement it, but well done ! What I’d LOVE to see is a whole page of waypoints showing their distance and direction (arrow) from you, all one one screen with a live update. Just like the Garmin handheld Etrex has. That would make this app pretty much impossible to improve.

Great up, real time location is great. Getting distance and bearing to points of interest is really useful. Have you guys got the permissions to get elevation put in the app? so I can get a grid with an elevation. 

Also I think a bigger compass rose, or even an overlay of one would be of great benefit to the app. Would make things a little easier when on the ground and need a quick cardinal direction.

I bought this because of good comments from others i know use it. But...at the moment it isn’t much use without:

1) offline maps
2) other maps - particularly outdoor types like ordanance survey, open street map, map box and thunderforest types. 
3) creating routes
4) recording tracks. 

Once the first two features are added. Its a 4 star app. And when all 4 features are added its a 5 star app.

A good tool to use especially the detail it provides when using hybrid or satellite view and zoomed in is amazing. With such clarity in detail you can easily look at an area and orientate what your looking at the the actual ground. However some areas the map is scrambled and in hybrid and satellite view and if the area you want to use is in the scrambled section you pretty much on your own wits. Also the map takes ages to load at times and there’s no offline usage, which should be a feature. The overlays are to big when plotted on the map and cove other details of the map, should look at reducing the sizes or add a feature to do so. However the gps is very accurate and the other functions such as being able to change the grid reference from UTM to MGRS or LAT LON is great. I thinks adding on offline feature and improving the map view will make this app one of the top app if not the top app for outdoor navigation.

Overall a good app, great detail in the imagery and best zoom in I’ve seen. Very user friendly and intuitive. 
However I was disappointed to find the app isn’t compatible with wifi only IPads, although they are GPS enabled.
A huge bonus would be the ability to add routes and overlays especially as this is aimed at the military eg marking and naming routes, and marking boundaries and areas of operations or out of bounds areas.
