Designed from the ground up as an extension to our award-winning, browser-based interface, the MindMeister app stores your mobile creations and seamlessly syncs them with your online account.

The “Basic” version of MindMeister is free. You can try the “Personal” plan free for 1 week after signing up! If you enjoy your “Personal” trial, do nothing and your membership will automatically continue as an auto-renewing month-to-month subscription.
If you subscribe via iTunes: Payment will be charged to iTunes Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current period. Account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of your selected plan above.
Subscriptions may be managed by the user and auto-renewal may be turned off by going to the user’s Account Settings on the device.

As a desktop or laptop service, Mindmeister is quite good. On the iOS platform, sadly, it is awful.

Based on my experience, the app isn't intuitive, and fights you every step of the way. It gets in the way of doing work, rather than helping you map out your thoughts.

I would recommend people check out the desktop version. The iOS version, though, will lose you time and cause frustration.

I'm having the most incredibly painful time with MindMeister. The IPad maps aren't syncing properly to the online version and my data is all over the place. I've lost entries, tens of duplicate maps are being unnecessarily created, maps are freezing and the app is constantly crashing. At this point I've to redo 3 days of work and the only sure thing is that I definitely won't be using MindMeister and definitely won't be renewing my expensive online subscription.

Although this still seems like work in progress, it is by far the most integrated mind mapping app available. Others require format conversion (for mindmaps, this means data loss from the meta data that make them "work") or a painful sync process. Mindmeister syncs with its own web-based service, and in a seamless way between edits or in real time. In "app based" mapping this is another vital feature, especially when collaborating: my edits from iPad appear on the web as I make them: no export, sync or save is required.

Very handy to have the mind mapping tool available on the iPad. The syncing is great, I can work on my maps on the computer as well as the iPad. But some of the iPad features are not as good as the online version, e.g. Auto-layout. But it is still a good tool, and very useful.

I was loving this app until the most recent update (4.01) when none of the maps in my online account would sync and no app would download. After 12 days there has been no reply to my 2 "priority" support requests. My advice, stay away from the app and online service. I had paid for the pro subscription. An action I now regret and I will not be renewing. Instead I am actively looking for alternatives.
