Minimalist Password Manager

I was looking for something to replace my 1password subscription, which was A. overpricedc and B. suffering from its switch from a native app. I tried a bunch. And to cut a long story short, Minimalist is just what I wanted. Brilliant native software that works wonderfully with apple password manager API hooks. The apps just exude quality from every square pixel, and you can tell it’s made by decent developers who really care. The import process was flawless too. Brilliant.

This password manager works amazingly well. Simple, fast, effective and efficient. A much better experience than 1Password. I would give 6 stars if the app was certified by an independent audit to give additional guarantees about keeping the data secure.

Great feature set, clear presentation, one-time purchase available. Look no further. You don’t need me to enthuse about the features, just try the free version.

I tried this as I was fed up with paying monthly charges for a 1Password account. It was a refreshing option to allow a one time payment rather than a pay forever model that all the other competitors use. The app is great. Simple, clean and does exactly what I need. So glad I tried it. Nothing more to say, I love it! Keep up the good work!

I’ve discovered this app last year, and after running it for half a year I can say it stood the test of time and it’s adopted. The design is great, the tight integration with Apple software is so refreshing. it does everything a modern password manager needs to do, and does it well. The pricing is great, the developer is extremely reactive to feedback and while some features (like password leaking alerts) are lacking, it’s moving extremely fast. I was disappointed by the competition’s offerings, but this little gem won my heart very fast. For me it rivals the best in this class of software, and totally deserve the praise.

Great app. Now my preferred password manager. The only thing stopping it from getting 5 stars is the irritating Touch ID problem on my MacBook. You have to select from Touch ID or Password to unlock the app. You don’t have to select either Face ID or Password on iOS so I don’t understand why the process can’t be streamlined on MacOS. May seem like a small niggle but other password managers don’t do it. Please fix it.

That’s such an amazing product! I was very disappointed when you removed the one-time payment as I didn’t buy it back then. I'm so glad I haven't deleted the program and noticed your recent update regarding logo change. Anyway, just to make the long story short - I’ve bought the one-time option to support you and eventually migrate from that major competitor to your product.

This was a really promising password manager; but with the switch to a subscription only service, and the fact that it hasn’t been updated in 7 months, I can no longer recommend this app, and I’m honestly wondering if it has become abandonware.

The developers straight up lie and gaslight people by saying “lifetime is and always was a completely unsustainable business model” and yet that’s how software has worked for the majority of its existence. Get Strongbox, has a one-time payment and developers who are sociopathic in their greed, because you should never trust your private information with people who are not honest and won’t let you own the product.

I installed this app on my iPhone and Mac. I was really excited for a real native 1password alternative. I added some logins I routinely use. The auto fill setup was easy, but it simply didn’t fill in safari on the mac or on my iPhone. I sent a video to the developer showing the issue. If the developer fixes it, I’ll change my review but until then I can’t recommend this app.
