The Minimoog Model D App is a software transmutation of the world’s first portable synthesizer, the Minimoog Model D®. Anyone can jump in and play with over 160 included presets or lay fingers to the controls and begin exploring vast magical realms of creative potential for iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac.
The Minimoog Model D App incorporates a number of inspiring sound creation tools and capabilities not present on its analog antecedent. New functions include the ability to play chords with up to four-note polyphony, an easy-to-use arpeggiator for rhythmic pattern creation, a real time looping recorder with unlimited overdubbing capacity, a tempo-synchronizable stereo ping pong delay module, and the Bender -- a wide-range stereo time modulation effect module.
The Minimoog Model D App also supports AUv3 Audio Unit extensions, which allows multiple instances of this powerful instrument to be used simultaneously within compatible iOS apps supporting AUv3.
A BRIEF HISTORY
Introduced by Moog in 1970, the Minimoog Model D served as the archetype for all electronic keyboards that followed. It gave users the ability to design their own sounds, translating imagination into reality. The Minimoog’s portability, affordability and accessibility made it the go-to instrument for musicians looking to expand beyond the traditional sounds of the time. Bernie Worrell used the Minimoog Model D to establish Parliament Funkadelic’s futuristic funk sound. Kraftwerk employed the Minimoog Model D on the successful concept album Autobahn, sparking an entirely new genre. Gary Numan replaced his live band’s guitars with Minimoog Model Ds, creating the prototype for industrial music. The classic sound of the Minimoog Model D can be heard on Bob Marley’s Catch A Fire, Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Dr. Dre’s The Chronic; Detailed in the mini-doc series “A Brief History Of The Minimoog”.

Great Analog Recreation, Poor Digital Features
This thing sounds really good guys, just 2 suggestions to make this perfect on its virtual version: 1. Double the voices to 8 (Actual iPads are very powerful, so be sure they can handle more than 4 voices). & 2. The Overloaded feature sounds really poor and mediocre, like not made by Moog, I’m sure you can improve that little feature, put some good overdrive or something, and your synth will be one lf the faithful recreations of the original unit ever made.
Esto sí es un Moog
Este instrumento es una maravilla. Me permite tener a muy bajo costo el sonido muy similar al del legendario Minimoog. Hay una cosa muy buena, que es que conectando directamente el dispositivo iOS al Mac puede controlarse desde un secuenciador o se puede usar el Camera Kit para conectarlo vía USB y tocarlo directamente es de un teclado real. Ah, además tiene algo que el Model D original no puede tener por naturaleza: ¡Puede ser polifónico! Cómprenlo. No se van a arrepentir, van a gozar y a aprender.
Notes shut off when playing with a polyphonic sequencer
Update: I was in fact using the polyphonic mode of the vst the issue was the gate time I set for each chord in the keystep pro. If the gate time overlapped the next chord change, it didn’t matter if the next chord had two common notes, only the new one would trigger. So be aware of gate for polyphonic step sequencers.
Original review:
I am using the arturia keystep pro to sequence a 3 voice polyphonic sequence of pads. When transitioning from a chord to another and if I am only changing one note and leave the other 2 pressed, the new note is on but the other 2 are off. This does not happen when changing all the notes in the chord. Please fix it, this is a downer for using it for keys and pads.
Excellent synth
The sound is amazing, I think I can use this synth live. The sound is very similar to the real moog. Great to use with a controller forrecord and live playing.
