Pointless to try to watch a game on replay. Yes you can hide the scores but the page is full of spoiler headlines and clips. Today it even hides the score of Game 1 then writes LAD leads series 1-0 DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH!!!! Just a terrible app.
Also, why can’t we get proper 45 min-ish condensed games like NFL, such as showing (last pitch of) each at bat? The condensed games are just like slightly extended highlight reel.
MLB
Good
Unable to use
Like others the ridiculous insistence that the app must be updated on a device for which iOS16 is not available forces me to give it no stars. To reject so many users is so crazy.
Annoying breaks
Extremely annoying and repetitive breaks during interchanges. Flashbacks with shouting, some boring zen fillers. Just show the stadium overview. That's fine. Other than that it's quite good.
Full of info
For the big price tag that comes with an MLB.TV subscription, this app does everything you want it to. Living abroad makes the schedule pretty difficult to understand with adjusted times though.
Terrible app
Over complicated. Gets worse with each release. A miracle if videos play. I dread opening it when I have to. Resorted to getting different apps to see scores as this just so error prone.
Do the developers of this app understand what time zones are ? App is even more awful when in a different day from the game
Times/dates confusing for users in different timezones
I mainly downloaded this to keep track of scores. However, as other reviews have mentioned, the scoreboard defaults to the local time on your device, making it incredibly confusing if you're using it in certain timezones.
The MLB website displays scores according to the slate of games on each day in the US/Canada, which is what people actually want. This app really needs to default to that or at least give an option in the settings. It sounds like a little thing but it actually makes the entire app useless as a scoreboard.
No live streaming
The app does not appear to be able to live stream games. I rang MLB support and they had not heard of Apple Vision Pro and told me that MLB does not support Apple Vision Pro despite the fact that I told them I was looking at the app on Apple Vision Pro while I was on the phone
Disappointing
I must be doing something wrong as I get none of the special features. No scores, no standings, no highlights, a picture shape that hides the special command buttons. It looks and feels like a stripped down version of the TV app.
iPhone
Rubbish that you can no longer use on an older phone - mlb tv subs cancelled ☹️
