I’ve used this app for many years and continue to do so on a daily basis.
I have it set up to access my iMac on my home network and also via the internet whilst I’m away from home.
Setting it up for use on your home network is a doddle. Access from the internet can be a bit more tricky, you’ll need to make sure you have the desired ports open and you’ll need a DNS address service if you don’t have a static IP.
It’s not really for intensive use, it would be difficult to carry out complex tasks on your computer from your touchscreen smart phone. I use it for things like setting a download going whilst I’m out so it’s ready when I get home, or just checking the status of a backup, that sort of thing… and for these things it works perfectly well.
Doesn't work since update
Doesn't work since update
Does exactly what I need.
The title says it all: I wanted an ad-free and effective VNC client. This fits the bill nicely with very acceptable performance on iPhone and iPad even to iMac Retina.
Good but slow
All works good but unfortunately it is extremely slow to work with over 3G or Wi-Fi makes no difference. I have moved to TeamViewer which is fast to do tasks which is what I need
Over 3G or edge working perfectly
Hi just updating my old post, users who would like to use this app over the 3G network, would first need to find the output ip of your router( google 'vnc test') next thing you need to find a way to edit your router and make it accept incoming on port 5900, as most routers will block this for security. Once this done, should be full steam ahead, This issue is not the apps faults, it's to do with the security of wifi routers
Mocha VNC for Mac
I bought this rather than use the lite version for its full keyboard functionality. Unfortunately it didn’t provide the ` key present on the UK Mac keyboard . The developer was very prompt in answering my queries but seemed to fail to understand what I wanted from the product. I can see it would be a good solution for some users but I ceased using it in favour of the Real VNC client.
Brilliant app. Just like using my pc
Love this app
I can login to my server to run anything I need and to copy media around to my shared drives so I can watch it on my tv.
I could not do without it
Just what it says in the tin
Great software, shame about the bright green icon.
Half useful
Clicks on sub menus or in popup menus such as the selectors in iTunes 11 do not register. This makes the app useless half the time.
Rubbish
Free version seemed ok. Full version doesn't work properly - doesn't click I'm the right place and is generally clumsy and rubbish. Try logmein (free version) - it seems much better accept you have to leave it running on your mac/pc and create an account ... but it works nicely.
