The Moog Model 15 App is the first Moog modular synthesizer and synthesis educational tool created exclusively for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
Each facet of the Moog Model 15 modular synthesizer has been meticulously recreated in this application to ensure the power and transcendent sound quality of each module remains intact. The character, harmonic complexity and mystique of the Moog Model 15’s modules, from the legendary Moog 921–series oscillators and 904A Low Pass Filter, to the coveted 907 Fixed Filter Bank have been painstakingly preserved.
In order to develop the most immersive and expressive modular interface possible, the Model 15 App has been designed utilizing Apple’s new Metal advanced graphics engine. This ensures that all zooming, panning and modular patching throughout the application feels completely natural, something that would have been impossible otherwise.
The Model 15 App features both monophonic and 4-voice polyphonic operation is easily commanded via 4 seamlessly integrated controllers. Simple swipes and taps provide instant access to a traditional Moog keyboard, 1150 ribbon controller, 8-step sequencing arpeggiator and the award-winning Animoog keyboard with 22 built-in scales and polyphonic modulation capabilities.
Also included are extended features which expand the capabilities of the app beyond the traditional offerings of the hardware Moog Model 15. These include total MIDI integration, assignment for external control, use as a MIDI controller, dedicated Audio Bridge and MIDI Bridge modules, looping recorder module with overdubbing, a master ping-pong delay module and a new extension cabinet that includes additional amplifiers and voltage-controlled reversible attenuators that can be used for effects like ring-modulation.
Because the Model 15 App utilizes Apple’s Metal technology, only 64-bit devices are supported. Compatible devices include iPhone 5s or newer, iPod touch 6 or newer, iPad Air or newer, and the iPad Pro.
The Model 15 App requires iOS version 12.4 or later to work.

The sounds are great. It’s way to much of a hassle to patch though. Even controlling parameters is arduous on this graphic interface . I will enjoy it for its presets but can never see myself programming this thing. The point of the original is to have everything visible and immediately accessible to you. That is not the case with this app and perhaps can’t be. Scrolling and scrolling while trying to hold a patch cable is a lot.. So as long as you go into this with lower expectations, I think you’ll be alright. I will enjoy it as a collection of presets.

Nice app
I really like it

If you are starting out with synthesis programming, be sure to watch the tutoriala, very well done.
As a plugin, I can't change the size and find it hard to work with as the print on the synth is too small and a bit out of focus. However, I am able to run it as a standalone external synth with Ableton and it works just fine, scalable size and clear focus.
I have a ton of software synths available and this and Animoog Z are my favorites, by far.
It’s Unbelievable
With it being nearly identical in sound to it’s analog counterpart, it makes this a game changer. Moog did it again.
Favorite music app!
I really love this app like none other. I spent my life looking at pictures of Keith Emerson’s monster moog and wondering what all those wires did. Now I know!
In a practical sense, it is my go to synth app because: 1) the software is rock solid. Works as plug-in to every DAW I try with no issue. 2) it’s more versatile than others. Most synths are hard wired in ways that allow for common setups, but you can’t change them. This let’s you wire up sounds that others cannot dream about. 3) I personally like following the wires to find a setup, rather than remembering how a switch or setting affects something else.
Learning curve is higher than some, but all the presets really help. That’s a luxury Keith Richards didn’t have when trying to figure it out 50 years ago.
Incredible!!
If you want to learn modular without breaking the bank, this is the app for you. The tutorials teach you how all the modules work and how to patch them, there are presets you can play around with, and this thing sounds nuts. 10/10
