## Monal Description
Es gab noch nie einen besseren Zeitpunkt, um in XMPP einzusteigen, ein kostenloses öffentliches Chat-Netzwerk, das niemand kontrolliert oder besitzt. Monal ist ein schneller und benutzerfreundlicher Weg zur Nutzung von XMPP. Lade einfach die App herunter, melde dich an oder registriere dich, und schon kannst du in wenigen Minuten chatten. Die App sieht aus und funktioniert wie andere Apps auch, sodass du weder „XMPP lernen“ musst noch dich darum kümmern musst, was das überhaupt ist.

Da Open Source und XMPP gebe ich direkt 5 Sterne und bedanke mich bei den Entwicklern für die tolle App. Trotzdem ist das Design wie auch die Benutzung gefühlt wie vor zig Jahren und ich hoffe dass ein Update kommt dass die App moderner aussieht und manche Funktionen verbessert werden. Ich hoffe man kann mal auf den Messenger Telegram gucken und sich dort ein Beispiel nehmen

Kann keine Audios abhören die mir geschickt wurden und PGP Verschlüsselung wäre noch mehr wie Ehre falls möglich wie bei Conversation, sonst top App! Für IPhone nur zu Empfehlen mich würde es nur freuen wäre es von der Verschlüsselung wie Conversation mit der PGP Möglichkeit und etwas mehr Support (Bug fixes)

Ich habe eben mal wieder Monal installiert – und bin sehr angetan. Mit der 6er-Version (6.4.0 stable) hat sich viel getan - man kann es jetzt (incl. Omemo) auch s as ls Muggel nutzen ;) Noch ein Grund weniger, um Matrix zu nutzen ;)

ChatSecure ist um Welten besser. Elementare Funktionen fehlen bei Monal komplett, wie z.B. die Möglichkeit für bestimmte Gruppenchats die Benachrichtigung zu deaktivieren. Dann bimmelt das Handy alle 10 Sekunden wenn es ein großer Gruppenchat ist und man muss das so hinnehmen oder man verlässt die Gruppe dauerhaft oder nutzt XMPP Clients wo man die Benachrichtigungen konfigurieren kann.

Mit einer der besten Clients für xmpp.  Was ich jedoch vermisse ist die Möglichkeit Sprachnachrichten aufzunehmen und zu versenden. Das ist ein simples Feature das zwingend noch eingebaut werden muss. Ansonsten Top :)
