Looking for a replacement and move from Windows to macOS and replacement of MS Money. I have completed limited testing and whilst the basics are good, listing and seeing Vendor transactions is not. It appears category is the driver where this should be a group or report focus. How do i tell the difference between one store and the next. I am used to this being super clear with MS money. The support agent responded quickly to my question and gave me options so 5* for that. Its the options in the product are not what i want. I’ll test more and maybe i’ll change my mind, but Vendor, ie, whom I actually paid, is a critical element in accounting in my view so it should be front and centre, not burried in a ‘notes’ section. Happy to be educated how i make vendor the key field in the form. 17-Aug; I had a developer response which clearly indicates they have no answer to my observation this product is not capable of being Vendor focused in the transactions view. So every time i need to glance who i have paid, i have to run a report. If only someone could write software as good as MS Money. Developer; Download a copy of the sunset edition (it’s free, but read the terms) and test it, you’ll then see the variance (negative in my view) of your software. 05-Nov; I have downgraded this to two stars because. - The developers have not addressed the issues and the ability to actually view information they have suggested is terrible UX and involves 6 clicks between each transaction. It is not useable. - You cannot get a list of all transactions showing all vendors which were paid, so you cannot visually see all transaction related to, for example, Walmart. Note to developer: Install MS money and see what good look like, then you can write stretch goals to see if you can get anywhere near. Once you have, let me know as the foundation is good, just this current iteration is too far away to be useful as a replacement.
Have used this for nearly a year and it really easy to use and tracks all my money
I decided to try Money Pro on my iPhone and MacBook to replace iBank (Banktivity) which I had used for years but had gone to a subscription model. I wanted to pay one-off; sync my phone/ipad/laptop and I’m not interested in online downloads from my financial institutions. So I don’t need a gold subscription. I loaded today’s balances on about 20 accounts and set up my scheduled payments in an hour or two. Naming conventions are a bit different but after a few days my calendar and balances are all working as I hoped; and syncing via iCloud is very good too. That was the killer reason for dumping iBank. I contacted support once as I feared I had started the ‘pro’ syncing which requires a subscription. Got a friendly reassuring reply after a few hours pointing me to my Apple subscriptions as the best way of checking. So my advice after a few days is - if you are considering this for personal finances on your Mac/iphone - do it. There aren’t too many option but this is good in my opinion.
2.10.5 update broke iCloud sync, three versions later, still not fixed. Support “unable to give timescale” for fix. They have your money, now don’t care. Shocking performance
Good app, but the UI is seriously outdated. No innovation from the developer in that aspect.
Best app I have found for monitoring income and expensss, what is due to you. Keep up the good work. Fred sync across iOS devices.
I don’t know if it’s right place for this 🙂but i would like to ask about few improvements. -The time of transaction in the main list of transactions in the account -on the main site with all accounts separate balance of accounts depending of the currency used -when entering individual accounts, a bar at the top with a summary of income and expenses in a given month. The program is the best 🙂
Keeps track of my finances very well, scheduled transactions are the key feature from my PoV. Have used this for years and it copes with a lot of data very well. I have hit an issue recently where I was in Mountain Time before it switched off summer time having come from GMT after it switched and had a scheduled transaction go through. This had two undesirable side effects. First my scheduled transactions moved from the 1st of the month to the 28th, 29th and 30th of the previous month seemingly randomly but probably based on the transaction time. Secondly some of those transactions re-entered themselves for every month of the current year. On returning to GMT the scheduled transactions went back to the 1st so no problem there. I deleted the duplicate transactions and we’re back to normal so all good. Other than this glitch the software has managed my finances for years and done it very well. Thanks.
