It’s a good app but the fact you need to have €30 in credit to actually use a charger is awful price gouging. If you have €20 credit, and want to charge for 1 hour (approx €5) you need to top up by €10. Just awful practice.
The app itself it easy enough to navigate but requires continuous manual input. You cannot schedule a reoccurring charge which should be standard when using with a charger installed at a private residence. Each charge must be manually scheduled and started and this takes 8-10 keystroke depending on whether you remember to initiate the charge at the same time each night! App is glitchy at times also, wouldn’t recommend.
Imagine my panic when I get a notification after not using Monta app for months that my account is negative €25. I try to figure out who is using my account but no one is. It turns out, the user referral bonus I received expired 9 months ago but the app didn’t tell me at the time but 9 months later it decided I owed it some money and sent me the notification making me think I’ve been hacked. The referal credit should have expired after 6 months but my account still showed a positive balance and allowed me to start a charge 4 months after it should have been removed from my account (that charge was for €2.16) so now I’m being asked to pay monta €25.92. Their support are saying the “Danish office” said this is expected. So I get a user referal in October 2022, it expires in April 2023 but it still remains visible on my app until January 2024. I then get a notification in January 2024 saying my account is €25 in the negative causing me to panic thinking I’ve been hacked. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. I’ve also wasted plenty of time trying to explain to support the issues here, a nice way for me to waste my weekend.
My town received a new charger that uses Monta. First: No need to install an app as you can use it just by scanning the QR code on the charge point. Registration took less than a minute and the whole app is laid out in a very intuitive way. It's so important when you are standing beside the charging point at near zero temperatures with less than 10% in the battery! 😊 You just get it, and it's the sure sign of great design.
Found it very difficult to set up Had to get help from staff in the Sligo park hotel. Could it be simplified ? We are both senior citizens.

Keeps disconnecting, randomly charging and then not charging. A really poor system and app. Very sorry we went with this crowd and smartzone. 😔😔
Terrible- causes conflict with car manufacturers app - plugged car in twice this week and car didn’t charge - completely over complicated a simple process.
