Hold the Moon in your hands. Moon Globe HD turns your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad into a precision instrument for viewing Earth's Moon. Satellite imagery and topographic laser altimeter data are combined to render the Moon with realistic lighting in realtime 3D.
Use the multitouch screen to manipulate the view. Spin above the surface, or switch to Telescope mode to see the Moon as it appears from your location on Earth. Adjust the display time and watch the sunlight shift over the lunar landscape. A "tag cloud" floats just above the surface, labeling terrain features and spacecraft; touch any label to find out more about that feature. Moon Globe also shows you where the Moon and Sun are in the sky with its dynamic sky compass.

Excellant app
There seems to be a lot more to see in this app. Very clear at some points. I am still learning how to use it though.
Full-featured moon app
The best moon app I've found. Excellent features and UI. The ability to switch from "telescope view" to a free rotation mode is really useful.
v2.3 - An excellent app at the eyepiece
This app along with Moon Atlas & MoonMap Pro form an excellent set of tools for use at the eyepiece. Each app has something different to offer the lunar observer. With Moon Globe HD you have the ability to set the sun angle and this helps with identification of fine detail under a variety of lighting conditions. Overhead view is great too as you can change the viewing angle. Helpful for fine tuning the libration view. Secondary crater nomenclature is missing but that is minor as the other apps mentioned have this. Flying over the surface is nice eye candy. I have the HD version on an iPad 2 and Moon Globe non HD on an iPhone 5s. There is more detail and a greater level of zoom available in the HD version. Recommended.

Worth every penny and more, if you're a Moon geek like me. Almost a substitute for looking at it through my scope!
Who needs a telescope?
Beautiful images. Entrancing to peruse the surface and learn about the history and science behind each feature through Wikipedia (my favorite feature). Needs some kind of gray shadow or something to define the white text from the white areas of the moon. It's impossible to read some names.
