Aber letztlich funktioniert es. 
Das ist in Mailand wichtig, da wir im größeren Umkreis keinen Parkscheinautomaten gefunden haben, nur den Hinweis auf die Gebührenpflicht.

Bezahlen mit der Kreditkarte hat bei mir nicht funktioniert. Aufladen des App-Guthabens allerdings mit der selben Karte schon. Zahlen mit dem Guthaben wiederum nicht. Heißt: Geld auf der App eingefroren und nutzlos. Ich rate von der App ab.

Also, die App ist wirklich mit einigen Hürden versehen und schlecht ins Deutsche übersetzt worden. Einige Hürden konnte ich vor Ort überwinden, bei der letzten (Eingabe des Autokennzeichens) bin gescheitert und konnte das erst jetzt in Ruhe zu Hause meistern:

Es gibt keine Bezahlfunktion via PayPal, weswegen die Verifizierung meiner Kreditkarte tatsächlich eine SMS-Code und die Eingabe der Sicherheit PIN für Online-Zahlungen notwendig macht: das dauert.
Bei der Eingabe der eigenen Handynummer darf man nach der Auswahl „+49“ nicht die Anfangsnull der Handynummer eingeben. Nach der Eingabe der kompletten Handynummer mit dieser Null hatte ich auch keine SMS mit dem Code erhalten. Erst der zweite Versuch ohne Null war erfolgreich. 
Bei der Eingabe der Kreditkartenangaben steht oben der Name schon eingetragen, mit dem man sich bei Mycicero angemeldet hat. Unten in einem Feld steht der wohl falsch übersetzte Begriff „Diese Kreditkarte nennen“. Meine Eingabe „Visa“ war nicht erfolgreich. Dort muss der Name, wie er auf der Kreditkarte steht, eingegeben werden.
Die letzte Hürde, an der ich vor Ort gescheitert bin, ist die Eingabe des Kennzeichens. Meine Versuche wurden immer wieder zurückgewiesen mit dem Verweis, dass die Eingabe nicht dem Standardformat entspricht. Ein Hinweis, was das erwartete Standardformat ist, gibt es aber nicht. Lösung: Das Kennzeichen muss ohne Bindestrich, ohne irgendein Leerzeichen und ohne Nationalitätszeichen „D“ eingegeben werden, also z.B. ein dt. Kennzeichen M-M 1234 in dem Format „MM1234“.
Ob das Parken mit der App jetzt funktioniert, konnte ich leider nicht ausprobieren, da ich mittlerweile wieder zu Hause bin.

Fazit: die App ist in der dt. Version wirklich nicht gut gemacht, dürfte nach dem Überwinden der Hürden aber funktionieren.

Ich kann die ganzen negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen, sowohl das registrieren als auch das buchen eines Parkplatz Tickets ist in Windeseile erledigt. Die Übersetzung ins Deutsche könnte an manchen Stellen etwas besser sein aber was soll’s; es ist eigentlich immer klar was gemeint ist und man kommt gut mit der App zurecht.

Um mal eine positive Bewertung den negativen Rezensionen meiner Landsleute entgegenzustellen: Die App funktioniert einwandfrei, hält, was sie verspricht und ist einfach zu verstehen.
Vielleicht wurde sie ja in letzter Zeit verbessert. Jetzt klappt zumindest alles hervorragend.
Davon sind deutsche Verkehrsbetriebe oft noch weit entfernt!
