Description

This application is designed to be used with the Mopeka TankCheck sensor. The Tank Check application can measure the LPG propane level to tell you the exact fill level and when your tank is empty. It can be used on tanks found in RVs, heaters, BBQ grills, etc. The Tank Check sensors are magnetically stuck to the bottom of your propane tank and will periodically measure and wirelessly send the fill level or percentage to the Tank Check app. Stick it on the bottom of your tank and know exactly when you are running low on propane! This technology is patent pending.

More info about the TankCheck Sensor and links to purchase the sensors can be found on the Mopeka website at http://www.mopeka.com

Usage:
1. To pair your Tank Check sensor to the phone, simply press the "Sync" button on the back of the sensor while the app's main screen is visible. The first time you use your Tank Check sensor you must press the "Sync" button 5 times in a row in order to wake up the sensor.
2. Place the Tank Check sensor in the center of the underside of the tank. Most tanks have a small "flat" spot on the center and this is the nominal location for the sensor.
3. Flip the tank over. Once the fluid has settled the app will display a reading. Note that the LPG fluid will be sloshing around in the tank for a few minutes and the quality of the measurements will be low until this has stabilized.

Signal poor

vk7edjp= on

Our 250gal horizontal tank is about 30 ft away from our house but is downhill about15 ft. The signal from the unit is to periodically and will give a reading of 100%. You have to be careful

Works good, but…

DannyNichs on

Works good and it’s a convenient way to monitor usage. But, it loses connection often. Have to delete and re-download the app on a regular basis.

Works great

Doc’sRVing on

Works very well, I have 30lbs tanks in my toy hauler with 20lbs tanks when the 30’s run dry. Been using for more than a year and had to replace one battery in one sensor. I check once a week instead of letting the app run in the background. It will drain your battery on your cell. I also purchased the button gauge for dual tanks. Would recommend this for RV living.

Buggy app. Eats through iPhone battery like nothing else

JB510 on

Reported this a year ago, still not fixed. If you leave this app in the background it’ll eat through battery faster than any other app, even FB. Literally look at battery usage under settings and this is responsible for 40% of battery usage. Hard to trust a an app developer that can’t fix such a massive bug. Only fix is to force close the app after every time you use it…. Wifi bridge also often seems flaky. Like it won’t update tank levels for weeks. It makes me think it really only ever updates over Bluetooth and the wifi bridges are pointless.

95% there

Excellent product and marginal app. The app would be excellent, if it had a trend of the level versus date

Problem with app or sensor?

I am Chiisai on

I can’t get the tank sensor (using this app) to connect to any device (I’ve tried 3 different Apple products and it’s a no on each device). So I’M sending the who thing back. Nice idea to keep track of how much propane you have left in tank, but for $60.00 and no go on syncing with device, I just want my money back.

Battery killer

jamberbole on

The app works well enough but it absolutely destroys your battery life.

Works but eats battery in background

mykroft77 on

The app works well for what it’s for but has a background battery drain but that’ll eat your battery up quick. Please fix this!

No Tech support

Billthehiker. on

I have bought two of these and both times they will not work. I have returned them. Amazon said they will investigate and take it off to do their platform. I have emailed them twice and called her office twice. Not one person contacted me. Buyer beware

I like the ability to view my tanks

epardx on

I have 3 propane tanks on my Lance Travel Trailer and I love the ability to view the levels on all … it’s 3 stars because the app does not have dark mode and when I open it at night I’m blinded by the white background.
