One of Africa's oldest and most-loved board games, played for generations across Lesotho, South Africa and Botswana. Learn it in a minute, spend years getting good at it. PLAY ONLINE • Get matched with a real opponent, casual or ranked • Challenge a specific player, or host an open game anyone can join • Tournaments with a live bracket • A global leaderboard with ratings and country flags • Follow players, and see who is online • Chat rooms, direct messages and post-game discussion • Everyone plays in one pool, so there is always an opponent to meet PLAY OFFLINE • Seven levels of computer opponent, Easy through Master • Pass-and-play on one device • Watch two computer players fight it out • No connection needed — the whole single-player game works offline TWO RULE SETS • Traditional (South African) — the 24-point board, mills protected • Koti (Lesotho) — the 25-point board with the centre point and diagonals, plus the restrictive rules: you must form a mill when you can, you must block one when you can, a blocked player passes instead of losing, and no cow is safe inside a mill Or set the four rules yourself and play your house variant. THINGS TO COME BACK FOR • A new puzzle every day • Daily quests and a weekly challenge • Experience, levels, and three journeys across Southern Africa • Achievements to collect MADE TO BE PLAYED • Move hints, threat warnings and confirm-before-you-move, all optional • Colour-blind mode that tells the herds apart by shape, not only colour • Seven sound themes, or none at all • Two piece sets: River Stones and Carved Bulls • Full statistics, and a replay of any finished game you can step through, scrub and share HOW TO PLAY Placing: take turns putting your twelve cows on the board, trying to line three up. Moving: once every cow is placed, slide one to a neighbouring point each turn. Flying: down to three cows, you can jump to any empty point. A mill is three of your cows in a line. Make one and you take one of theirs. Reduce your opponent to two cows, or leave them with nowhere to move, and you have won. MORE THAN A GAME Morabaraba is played on scratched boards and bottle tops across the region, and the vocabulary is part of it: your pieces are cows, a mill sends one of your opponent's to the kraal. The game carries its own history, and so does this app. Free. No adverts. ## Morabaraba Screenshots - [Screenshot 1](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/22/e6/3d/22e63d8a-3d3b-ebc7-7a3e-acafa6286826/03-online.png/1320x2868.png) - [Screenshot 2](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/f3/ff/5e/f3ff5e62-c686-7031-faa3-221c413d0225/03b-online-players.png/1320x2868.png) - [Screenshot 3](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/d1/c3/e8/d1c3e862-22fe-f79c-9a93-f460a2e4e9f0/05-more.png/1320x2868.png) - [Screenshot 4](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/e5/ab/e6/e5abe65c-dc84-6756-f9fc-c3a3428a2ba5/06-puzzle.png/1320x2868.png) - [Screenshot 5](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource221/v4/4c/de/47/4cde47bc-f0be-473f-d673-19482cb2e4c1/04-journey.png/1320x2868.png) - [Screenshot 6](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/d5/4e/41/d54e4150-65c3-0dcb-db78-ab87f3c10574/01-home.png/1320x2868.png) - [Screenshot 7](https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/PurpleSource211/v4/87/9b/65/879b6541-5fcd-8f07-8820-20f6e3e53613/02-game.png/1320x2868.png) ## Morabaraba Rating Breakdown in South Africa - 5 stars: 2 (100%) - 4 stars: 0 (0%) - 3 stars: 0 (0%) - 2 stars: 0 (0%) - 1 stars: 0 (0%) ## Apps Similar to Morabaraba - [Zulu Chess - Umlabalaba](https://apptail.io/app/zulu-chess-umlabalaba-aStg/south-africa) - [Morabaraba Trainer](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-trainer-SIPp/south-africa) - [Morabaraba - 12 Men's Morris](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-12-mens-morris-uRUp/south-africa) - [Nine Men's Morris – Strategy](https://apptail.io/app/nine-mens-morris-strategy-kNzy/south-africa) - [Muehle](https://apptail.io/app/muehle-zwIy/south-africa) - [Nine Men's Morris Offline](https://apptail.io/app/nine-mens-morris-offline-XRDz/south-africa) - [Moara - Tintar joc romanesc](https://apptail.io/app/moara-tintar-joc-romanesc-ZRDz/south-africa) - [Daadi](https://apptail.io/app/daadi-aSDz/south-africa) - [Nine Men’s Morris : Mills Game](https://apptail.io/app/nine-mens-morris-mills-game-UyfA/south-africa) - [King of Mills Game](https://apptail.io/app/king-of-mills-game-aQAA/south-africa) ## Morabaraba Available In - [South Africa](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/south-africa) - [Switzerland](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/switzerland) - [India](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/india) - [Italy](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/italy) - [South Korea](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/south-korea) - [Malta](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/malta) - [Botswana](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/botswana) - [Namibia](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/namibia) - [Pakistan](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/pakistan) - [Thailand](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/thailand) - [Türkiye](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/turkey) - [United States](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/united-states) - [Malaysia](https://apptail.io/app/morabaraba-mlabalaba-YPAA/malaysia) --- ## About AppTail [AppTail](https://apptail.io) is a mobile app intelligence platform providing app analytics, ASO (App Store Optimization) tools, keyword tracking, competitor analysis, revenue estimates, and review monitoring for iOS App Store apps.
