Do you love codes and secrets? Morse Toad is the fantastic educational app that teaches you morse code through a series of simple lessons and exercises. Based on the world renown Koch method, letters are learned one at a time -- at full speed -- and when the player demonstrates their mastery of the new letter, another is added until the full alphabet is learned.

Morse Toad FAQ
Is Morse Toad free?
Yes, Morse Toad is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Morse Toad legit?
🤔 The Morse Toad app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
This is a good app for learning the morse alphabet, but it’s not as good for instant character recognition.
A couple changes would make this app better. These are crutches that impede learning.
1. Ability to turn off the keyboard hints (dits and dahs). These are turned off in the challenges already.
2. Being able to turn off the replay of the sound. If you don’t immediately recognize the character, it would be better for learning to mark it wrong and move on to the next character.
Just a suggestion, it would be great to have free form leaning of the characters so that problem characters can be isolated and worked on.
I hope these suggestions help!
Great App
This app is great I used it to learn morse code and work with it several time a week to keep me sharp! It’s already worth a few bucks and would gladly purchase if they would add punctuation and such!
First paid app I didn’t regret.
I’ve been trying off and on for years to learn Morse code. Have tried many different ways and programs. This is the one that made it click. I’d say I have a comfortable working knowledge after only one day. Bravo.
Perfection
Learned Morse code with this app like 4 years ago but got a little rusty
Learning it again and just wanted to tell y’all this is still the best thing out there, enjoy!
Not bad but need improvement
The app is good but it needs improvement, it needs a way to remove the sound when you press the right letter it is annoying. And a way to custom the hard letters to learn so you can focus on them..
Useless do not buy!
So many other apps that are free and tons better! This is a waste
Like the app, not the process
MorseToad has the right idea. Start you learning Morse at the speed it’s sent without having you focus on the dots and dashes. It helps you build sound recognition skills. The ONLY reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is that you apparently have to complete the entire alphabet in one sitting. Get all the way to W and U and need to take a break? Shazam, you’re back at square one. While I understand that there is a reason for this, it is very frustrating for a busy adult who doesn’t have time to sit and play for two hours at a time. 10 minutes practice every day is better than a hour once a week. This program doesn’t accommodate that. Yet, even with this inherent limitation it is still the best app for learning what Morse sounds like. Combined with Bravo for learning to send, it has helped me a great deal. AD0DQ
Just needs a few tweaks to be awesome
I like so far. I would love to see some enhancements to this app. I would like to see a progress tracker and a way to work a bit more on the individual letters I am struggling with. Right now you have to back track and work on the ones you are solid on to get to the problem one. If something was added where you could listen and drill on individual letters I feel the ear training would pick up even more. Then you could jump back into the regular drills to march on.
Beginner Morse coder
I’m impressed with the simplicity of suggesting listening to patterns at speed rather than counting dits and dahs. I’m confident that I will learn code quick with this fun educational game.
Awesome, helpful, and fun
This app design is very straightforward and to the point, easy to learn, and also very fun. One of my favorite apps.
