Many times when I get a notification I can’t see what is going on in the room because the image doesn’t load. The UI is ugly and makes no sense. Important buttons are tiny and hard to tap. Unimportant buttons are huge and in the way. 2. When this app is open it prevents you from playing any other audio. So you’re out of luck when you want to watch your baby but no listen to them. 3. Going from recordings being included with the device purchase to putting them behind a subscription paywall is shady and terrible. 4. I chose this baby monitor for its capacity to send its image and sound on my cell phone, which seemed like it might be a useful feature. (The dedicated screen that comes with the monitor is very easy to use, but it stays on my bedside table.) Now I can’t imagine living without that ability: I can see and hear what the monitor does anywhere in the house — AND anywhere else there’s cell service. I have read that some people worry about the possibility of the system being hacked by strangers, but that unlikely risk is unquestionably worth taking in my view. If it were to be exploited so….. I just trust God at this point. If a company was truly out to serve the customer, this would be a completely private connection and I wouldn’t have to worry about what is happening to my video and data. Idk why we subject ourselves to anything less than absolute privacy. Is the data and live stream encrypted? I get notifications when sound and or motion are detected. I know they’re storing the info becaaue this world is all about data and selling it for purposes unknown to me. What do they do with the data? I should mark this app a zero star but it has a use so. 3 at best. Video quality on the phone app is far better than the hand held screen. It’s silly to only let a single user have full access. The current app only has functionality for the owner to share a 15 minute token that can be used for viewing only, no controls. Other features in the app are nice, but mom and dad should both be able to access the monitor independently. Best case right now is needing to text the other parent to generate an access token so you can get 15 minutes - nothing you can do if the other parent is busy. I originally bought this baby monitor because of the phone app for my first child, I now only use it for my second child and this app is practically worthless unless you want to pay $100 a year. When I first used this app all of the features I loved (and specifically bought for) were free. I could see recordings and save videos, I could talk, play nursery rhymes and see recent activity. One by one all of these features have been taken away. The last feature that was ‘still standing’ was recent activity and they just took that away. I used this feature for wake windows and now I guess I need to get a new baby monitor. I guarantee all of these higher reviews are from when this app was actually a great app. It has done nothing but gone down hill. Wish there was a feature to view the entire night not just motion triggered clips that the app chooses. The baby was wiggling from one end of her bassinet to the other and doing a 90 degree turn and somehow the app never managed to capture and save those movements so we have no clue what she was doing.
