HOW DOES MULLVAD VPN WORK?
With Mullvad VPN, your traffic travels through an encrypted tunnel to one of our VPN servers and then onward to the website you are visiting. In this way, websites will only see our server’s identity instead of yours. Same goes for your ISP (internet service provider); they’ll see that you’re connected to Mullvad, but not your activity.  It also means that all the third-party actors with technology integrated into the various websites you visit can’t sniff out your IP address and use it to track you from one site to another. TELEMETRY AND CRASH REPORTS
The app collects a very minimal amount of telemetry, and it does not in any way tie it to an account number, IP or other identifiable information. Account numbers are used for authentication. App logs are never sent  automatically but are rather explicitly sent by the user. App version checks are performed every 24 hours to tell the app if there are any upgrades available and if the currently running version is still supported.

App works fine on iPad for connecting to VPN but it’s only made for iPhone. There is no native iPad version available. It would be a better experience if it were available for the iPad too as that is what I primarily use.

I recently subscribed to Mullvad directly on their site. The service is very good with a stress on privacy even during the sign up process. I am OK with the premium pricing but was a bit disappointed to see they have limited number of servers in Asia i.e Singapore, Japan and UAE. UAE is very slow, to the point of being unusable. And Mullvad support confirmed they have no plans yet to increase the number of servers/nodes in Asia. That was a disappointment. I think Mullvad should seriously consider spreading their wings beyond Europe if they ever intend to be a global VPN provider. The limited number of servers is Mullvad's weak point. And yeah the Wireguard implementation is a bit flaky. Works only some of the time.
