Mullvad VPN

I can only say wow! I lived in a country where it’s needed for many years now. I have been paying 5x for a service I thought was the best for years….then I find this, so light and simple to use, and it just works, incredible product!

This company is a serious bunch who fight government and face trials in court so you can still have ONE OPTION for VPN without any stupid policy to register your credit card, E-MAIL, PHONE or anything. They promote using crypto and even accepts money in the mail, with no other info than the random client id that you can get from ANYWHERE on their website. Tor can also be used, but so can a library pc or friend's phone. No KYC policy that makes 99% of VPNs useless today, BECAUSE IT JUST MOVES the problem back in, when you give up a VISA or other registered card, anonymity is no longer present. This is the bomb. This IS VPN. If you feel it uses too much power, try checking how much power goes AWAY without the VPN, JUST FOR HAVING YOUR WIFI OR LTE GOING ALL THE TIME, PICKING UP AND GIVING AWAY DATA TO YOUR SOCIAL NETWORKS ETC. Must be a bliss to be so totally ignorant and unknowing of what you talk about as many of the app critics out there.

Cheap and alright VPN, very privacy focused. Easily used, and you can easily change accounts Would like an option to automate changing of server with the shortcuts app tho

Drains battery even in idle.

Seems like it’s draining the battery too much in idle

The new multihop feature released in August 2024 doesn’t work on iOS. I was looking forward to using it, but support team just said it has problems and to turn it off. Makes me question their QA/QC process. Please fix.

Never able to establish a connection when outside the country (US). Do not recommend if you travel often. Pretty much incompatible with airport networks.

I can no longer recommend this app. It’s been 6 months of connectivity issues that have not been resolved. There are problems with being disconnected and difficulties reconnecting. I was told to try the WireGuard app. That worked for a while but now I often get zero data when connected. I also use an alternative brand VPN. I just switch over to that one and everything works fine so the problem is not my wifi or cellular connections. Other companies have figured this out so I can’t understand how after many months nothing has changed. There are also IP address registration problems that lead some companies into thinking you’re in another country. Today I connected to McAllen, TX. I couldn’t make a purchase because websites thought I was in the Czech Republic. Same with Detroit. Websites thought I was in London.

Nothing bad to say about this VPN, I love it. My only suggestion would be adding a “disconnect for x minutes” button that will automatically reconnect you after the allotted time is up. I have many times where I disconnect to view a blocked page and forget to reconnect.
