HOW DOES MULLVAD VPN WORK?
With Mullvad VPN, your traffic travels through an encrypted tunnel to one of our VPN servers and then onward to the website you are visiting. TELEMETRY AND CRASH REPORTS
The app collects a very minimal amount of telemetry, and it does not in any way tie it to an account number, IP or other identifiable information. Account numbers are used for authentication. App logs are never sent  automatically but are rather explicitly sent by the user. App version checks are performed every 24 hours to tell the app if there are any upgrades available and if the currently running version is still supported.

### *---- "HTTP status 429"
When pressning the ”create account” button I receive a message reading: ”Login failed Unexpected server response: Throttled (HTTP status: 429) HTTP status 429 means ”to many requests”. This means that my IP address has contacted their server to many times. The reason for this is because I have iClouds private relay activated, a VPN from Apple included in my storage subscriptions for 19 SEK, 2 USD. They use the security company cloudflare for this. I do not know why Mullvad have set their servers up in a way so they need to see customers IP address. If they are not allowed to se customers IP-address, you are not allowed to use their servers, not allowed to create an account. This seems a little gag order like, or stupidity at least. Apple have in their documentation several articles about how webbsites can verify that icloud private relay users are real people and not bots, so theire is not any reason for blocking or using other tecniques for protecting again ddos for those requests. For this reason it seems like Mullvad does not know what they are doing. They do not know what they should know about servers. This also tells me that the app probably is a hybrid app and not a native app meaning it runs in the webviewer a sort of web browser. That is good because other tecniques would override the icloud private relay and we do not want that. I give the app 1 stars only because of this.

The good thing is that SÄPO the Swedish CIA where starting to take their servers but after showing them their was no disks and no information to gather, Mullvad got them back, but this was years ago, and we do not know if the servers was tampered with in anyway at that moment or since in any other way. It is easy for them to listen to their servers. We know from the Snowden papers that NSA put rotkits in CISCO routers back then that could take full control of all devices connected to them. We know the protection of the servers are low when police are able to stumble in to their office to get access to the servers.

Also, their HQ was raided by the police and they were demanded to give out their user bases data - but they stood their ground and refused. You can trust Mullvad more than any other VPN provider.

As the title says, best VPN out there but the mobile app does drain my battery a bit. Although it has become better! On my third phone since I started using it, Mullvad has stood for between 30-60% of my battery usage on them all. The lower end of that percentage being nowadays. 

Couldn’t live without it though. Keep doing what you do! :)
