Music League is a game that lets you share and discover music by competing to determine the best songs for a particular theme!
If you want to discover new music, you will. You can share the songs you’re passionate about, and you can decide which of your friends has the best taste in music.
You and your friends can play to win, play to reminisce or play to discover new tunes by looking at music in a new way.
Music League players will submit a song for each round's "theme". Every round presents a new way to think about your music and a reason to share the songs you love, the songs you always thought deserved more love, or the songs you find that perfectly fit the theme.
Sample themes could include:
- Best cover song
- Beach Songs
- Song I learned from TikTok
- Best song of 2023 so far
- Best song you've seen performed live
- Songs to sing in the shower
- Instrumentals
Gameplay:
- Players submit a song that matches a theme
- The app will create an anonymous, shuffled Spotify playlist (an Spotify account is required. A free account works, but note that Spotify will add songs to any playlist with less than 15 songs)
- Players vote for which songs they like best or that fits the theme best
- Players can comment on songs as they vote
- When the votes are in, you are able to see who submitted which songs and all of the comments that were left
- A champion is crowned for each round… updating the leaderboard along the way
- An overall champion for each Music League is named after the last round
- You’ll also see who gave you the most love…and the least!

Music League is always evolving. Features have been added along the way and more will be coming.

Best App of All-Time
Fun and neat game. Fantasy sports for music! But I’d recommend sticking to doing this with friends and family. It’s really fun to do with people you know. The open (public) leagues are primarily comprised of AI bots and fake profiles so those leagues are filled. I get it, as these leagues do not work without at least 8-10 active members submitting songs and voting. However, I am also of the opinion that failing to disclose the identity of unverified AI bot league members borders on predatory business tactics. Music League is only making money through the ads that must be viewed in order to see the results each round of the leagues. Leagues generated, moderated, and generally comprised of AI bots will keep you churning through the various fun leagues, which results in clicking on ads that generate their only source of revenue (cannot imagine many pay for the ad-free subscription). Look, they need to make money somehow! I just wish the prevalence of fake AI profiles was disclosed more candidly, which is why I won’t ever use the app again and do not rate it 5 stars. Felt a bit like catfishing. That said, if you don’t care, those are still fun leagues and it’s actually fairly impressive, albeit equal parts terrifying to see where AI is at right now. Great concept that is likely floundering given their need to rely on catfishing AI bots. Fun and neat game. Fantasy sports for music! But I’d recommend sticking to doing this with friends and family. my only suggestion:
let us upload custom pictures for our league banners - or at the very least let us pick from the automatically used ones
i looooove this app so much, i got all my friends to download it after someone else told me about the app last week. it’s so fun and i love that i’m not only giving song recs to other people but also receiving them too! even if you’re not a big music geek this is still a really enjoyable game (:
Minefield of Ads
I enjoyed the app before they tried to shoehorn people into paying a subscription fee. Now the app is a minefield of full view ads in the most random places. Time to jump ship 😋
Fun game, app is unusable
Literally everything you click on the app takes you to an ad, that takes about 20 seconds total to skip. Completely impossible to navigate.
Careful, this is your next obsession
It’s such a fun way to connect with friends or a strangers for that matter. You can share your favorite songs, collectively build playlists, and hear music you might have never been exposed to otherwise. Love this app and community.
An Honest Review
Conceptually, it's a brilliant idea! My friends and I have a great time using it, and we all find new music constantly. However, the app design is clunky and outdated. To make matters worse, there are extremely frequent adds that often last for 45+ seconds, making it close to impossible to use the app at times unless one has a surplus of patients. I see so much potential but a major overhaul is needed before this app could breakthrough to the mainstream.
The ads are too frequent
Ads every 5 seconds. Ended up just using it online instead because no ads.
Please figure out your issues with push notifications
The push notifications do not work reliably. And then sometimes backend error messages strangely appear directly in the app for the user to see.
I love the app but please sort this out!
Crashes way to often
I love the idea of the app, and it’s fun when it works, but it’s way too buggy and crashes to often to be worth the subscription.
