Sound bar not available
I am trying to connect my sound bar to Music Cast (I have to do this in order to then connect MusicCast with Alexa for it to show up as a device on my app) yet when I try to “setup” it doesn’t even have my model of Yamaha sound bar as an option
Had for a few years… not a fan
Reliable connection from receiver to speakers is a mess when updating miscast firmware. Have to continually start over programming to get MusicCast to connect to main and 2 other speakers. Time waster. Not user friendly for other visitors / users.
Amazon

Just ok
After a few years with this I would say find something different. Softwares dated and doesn’t work well with newer technology
Overall good app
I have two issues, the SiriusXM app does not allow me to sign in. SiriusXM does not use a password but rather sends out a PIN at login. The integrated app does not support this so I have to use the native app.
The Tidal connect will launch the native app, but I have to manually tell it to use the amp instead of the device speaker every time I use it.
All the other integrated apps work great.
Pandora
The only issue is that with Pandora I can only store half of my preset stations, for some reason it doesn’t read my entire list. Other than that, it’s great.

Very hard to use
App is very glitchy
The biggest problem I’ve had with the app is that one time it will see the receiver on the network, and then the next it won’t. It is frustrating to have to remove power and reapply to get it to work. Other than tha, happy!
Horrible
If I could give zero stars I would. I had a audio company install my receiver and speakers for a number of rooms and went with their recommendation for Yamaha. This system is so bad. It frequently has bugs that don’t allow for rooms to be linked or worse unlinked. Their manual and online “help” do nothing. Their instructions have you press buttons that don’t exist or don’t do what they say.
I have had this for a number of years now and I’m to the point I need to just replace the receiver and go with a more customer friendly system. One with an app that works and is intuitive. I can homely say I have this system a chance (how could I not after dropping thousands on it) and it has failed epically.
Review of Yamaha’s MusicCast app
After 18 months of fiddling with this app, I can not make it work. Abysmal failure by Yamaha…
