Description

MX-Q is a new app available for iOS devices that allows controlling personal monitor mixing for all Midas M32 and M-AIR series, as well as Behringer X32 and X-AIR series digital mixing consoles.
With MX-Q, musicians can control their own monitor bus mix (mono/stereo) with full access to all input channels individually. Input channels can also be grouped into 4 MCA (Mix Control Association) wheels for easy control of multiple channels. Each band member can group inputs to their own liking, greatly simplifying the individual monitor balance during performance.
Setup is simple – just connect your device to the same wireless network as the digital mixer. MX-Q start screen will show available mixers in the network, to chose from. Once connected MX-Q allows everyone in the band to take control of their own mix.

KEY FEATURES
* Select the mix bus for your personal mono/stereo monitoring control from your phone
* Assign any combination of inputs to four available MCA (mix control association) wheels
* MCAs allow concurrent trimming of all assigned signals with just one control:
--more me--less band--more click track--less percussion ...the choice is yours!
* Control all input channel send levels and panorama individually
* Control all send levels of auxiliary inputs and stereo FX returns
* Meter all input channel levels and the bus master for visual feedback
* Connect multiple mobile devices to the same mixer simultaneously
* MX-Q can be used in portrait and landscape orientations

REQUIREMENTS
Requires the digital mixer to be in the same Wifi network as the mobile devices

Every time I open it up, it successfully finds our mixer but then it crashes on my iPhone 13.

Disconnects too often

The app disconnects from the board too often for it to be adjusted easily.

Disconnect bugs - almost unusable

Version 1.0.9 We ran a 5 week trial at our church. In our experience, tablets get used for lyrics, so the phone is what’s left to run mx-q. Which is perfect. Everybody has a phone. Everybody. But a phone gets locked and dropped back into your pocket when you’re not mixing. The issue comes when you take it back out of your pocket. The app opens - sometimes. Sometimes it just freezes up. Usually it hangs up while trying to re-connect. Sometimes it re-connects and then freezes. A small percentage of the time it works. Now you have to disconnect, and reconnect. That probably won’t do the job, so you need to force close, the app, re open it, and reconnect. Hopefully you’re still on your mix bus. Oh yes, and you’re trying to do this in between songs with 30 people looking at you... we’re back to using our aviom system for the time being. I’ll keep an eye out for updates that address reliability. Otherwise, very cool app, but if it doesn’t actually work when you need it most, then it doesn’t work :(

App not working properly

Recently got an iPhone 16 Pro Max. It seems app is not compatible or not working properly on iPhone 16. Can’t connect to mixer, only works on the demo option but that’s it. Will there be an update to fix this issue??

Cancel after cancel

Tallc23 on

You start the app and everything works fine for about three minutes. The app starts searching for a connection all the while it’s spinning. You hit cancel and it finds the connection, you tap on the connection and the app starts working. Three minutes, Dropped Connection. Rinse and repeat. Who can do that while you are performing. Absolutely worthless.

Works!

My band uses this app (M32 mixer) just about every weekend. The only hiccup is you might have to close and re-start the app perhaps once a night like during sound check. Other then that it’s been stellar! The band leaves me alone for the in-ear mixes which in turn leaves me free to go to the bar :) I have an old but strong Wi-fi router so be sure you have a good one. For me, this app has been a game changer, anyone can use it with little direction.

Improve!!

This app is good just needs improvement. Always freezing and not loading even when the internet is at full blast

Don’t do it

I cannot adequately describe what a disappointment this app is, after my band purchased $12,000 worth of in ear monitor equipment and having this app to rely on, which often needs to be closed and rebooted in a panic, and often seems to have a mind of its own. Ghosts in the machine with this thing. Not reliable for live performances.
