My Index FAQ

Is My Index legit?
🤔 The My Index app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I was directed to this app by my health insurance and it’s been a major pain to use.
The food search results are confusing with odd measurement options and then there’s the all too often “Sorry, no results,” such as searching for Hillshire Farm Honey Ham and no results show but if I search for just Hillshire Farm, dozens of results appear and I have to wade thru them all.
Why isn’t there a way to put the amount of water I drank for the entire day instead of having to record this at the different meal sections?
The “This combination is” options make no sense. Soda? Medicine? I end up using “Other” almost every time to designate my combo as a meal, such as when I make my normal club sandwich. These same options show up under “This recipe is…” for the “Create Recipe” section.
When creating a recipe, it requires a number to be put in for “Makes____Serving.” If I’m making my baked fries, I know I’m using two potatoes but I don’t know a serving size. Why isn’t there an option to use cups or ounces or…?
If I’m logging in food from a previous day, the screen returns to the Today log after I select a food to add to the previous day, forcing me to tab backwards to whatever day I was updating.
There’s no way to see a history of when I weigh myself, only whatever the current number was. It’d be helpful to be able to look back and compare what I ate one week and see what my weight was then.
A Disappointment
This app was suggested by my insurance company. Unfortunately, it’s not very accurate. Many of the food listed do not have the correct nutritional information. The food measurements are inconsistent. IMO, everything should have standard measurements (grams/ounces, ounce/milliliters, etc) in addition to arbitrary measurements (#lettuce leaves, number of olives, etc). There’s no positive re-enforcement of food choices./Food suggestions that are contrary to articles. All in all a waste of time and effort. I’ll give it until I hear from my “coach”, but it’s already been a week since I was asked for convenient time and have received anything confirmation. The only thing I received was what looks like a standard reply as it didn’t address anything personal. I had hope this could help, but so far I’m disappointed.
App won’t stay open
Keeps closing soon as it opens
Won’t stay open
As soon as it opens it closes
Unable to create account
When trying to set up the account I am told that i need to enter an authorization code but I never received one. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still receive the same message
Health Plan Recommends
I joined a fitness program offered by my health plan. They wanted me to use this app and a registered dietition checks in and reviews my entries offering good support. It tracks a number of things that are important to me including macros, exercise, water and calories. As with any new app, it takes a few days to get in the groove but it quickly becomes easy.
was great but not connected all day
App will not yield any search results (tells me to Try Again). Frustrating.
instead of the dial feature to adjust numbers, could you change it to free input instead so i’m not scrolling for days to put a value in the hundreds and accidentally clicking out of the food entry window and i have to start all over again
$175 surprise?!? DO NOT USE THIS APP
So I just got an explanation of benefits from Tufts that this app charged $175 for the nutritionist. I thought the nutritionist was a bot, that’s how useful it was. I already pay for a nutritionist, so why would I use some random person in an app that’s never met me? Total scam
Great App
Was a great app. Have been using for over a year and suddenly will no longer open. Tried deleting and downloading again- still immediately closes. Works online version but app works better on phone. Very disappointed
Outdated advice.
The app is ok but it’s ideas of good nutrition are pretty outdated. You basically tank your score if you have any saturated fat and it loves tofu but not chicken. I mean what is this? The 90’s? I am yet to loose any weight with this and it’s been months and months even working with their nutritionist.
