Use the My Southern Cross app to check your benefits and balances, request prior approval and submit online claims faster. You can also get access to online GP consults with CareHQ.

App features:

• Make claims* and request prior approval** for upcoming treatment
• View your policy documents and communications
• Access online GP consultations through CareHQ, 7am-7am, 7 days a week
• Update your contact details
• Check what you pay for your cover
• View and redeem member offers

To use the My Southern Cross app you need to be a Southern Cross Health Insurance member and be registered for My Southern Cross. By claiming through the app you agree to receive communications online in My Southern Cross.

Useless app . Used to be straight forward to login . Now it asks a bunch of information regardless if you already have an account. It keeps sending errors that your details are incorrect. Why change something that was working just fine before . This extra step is cumbersome and pointless.

I’ve installed the app and gone through the set up process twice and it doesn’t work. There’s just a rotating circle and icon. Not at all helpful when trying to access the CareHQ service and the app is the only way to do so for free.

Retrying and reinstalling does not help. 

This is a critical issue. 

There are other reviews here describing login issues going back 2 years.

Every time I go to log in I am required to go through a long process where I get the option to set up facial ID. I do this and every time after that I have to go through the same process of logging in and setting up facial ID. Come on Southern Cross get your act together!

Used to always ask for initial login details every time (the full shebang every single time), then used to say “uh oh an error” and now saying no connection (despite every other app working fine with no connection issues). It’s very frustrating. Honestly, for the amount you charge for premiums, you’d think you could provide a better app. Or just don’t provide an app until your app actually works.

In fact the only thing that gives it a run for its money in the race for NZs worst mobile app is the website experience on mobile (which you have to use because the app won’t login). It’s even worse than the app. 
Do yourself a favour and move to another provider who cares and invests in their digital experience - this team don’t.
