Not so good for nutrient tracking. Even “verified” entries are sometimes wildly wrong. (One of the verified collard greens entries 9/22/2026 lists the % of the RDA for Ca in one cup as over 300%. The correct value is closer to 27%. Somebody entered Ca content in milligrams instead of as a percentage.) Similarly named entries sometimes have very different nutrition information, so logging a meal correctly sometimes takes longer than eating it. Catch an error in yesterday’s food diary? Too bad, no way to correct it.

Look, I don’t review often. I have been tracking my food with my fitness pal for over 8 years. When they put food scanning behind the paywall, I knew it wasn’t going to end well. The interface layouts keep getting worse, features are buggy, food will randomly not track, and now my custom meals just don’t work and I waste so much time. It would actually be easier to track my food on a piece of paper and add it on a calculator. Fix your app guys.

The forced AI is garbage. No way to turn any of it off. And it constantly pops up notifications and reminders and just makes the user experience awful.

### **--- "Paying for Premium but the app treats me like a free user"
I’ve used MyFitnessPal for food and calorie tracking and really like the food database, but my experience with Premium has been extremely frustrating. I have an active yearly Premium subscription through Apple that doesn’t expire until February 2027, yet the app keeps telling me to “Go Premium.” I’m seeing ads and I can’t even use the barcode scanner that I’m already paying for.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted my iPhone, logged out and back in, and tried to get help through customer support. Nothing has fixed it. Apple clearly shows that my Premium subscription is active, but MyFitnessPal still doesn’t recognize it.

The worst part has been the customer support experience. When someone is paying for a yearly subscription, there should be a straightforward way to restore Premium access when something goes wrong.

I actually like MyFitnessPal when it works, but I’m done fighting with an app to access features I’ve already paid for. I’m moving to another calorie-tracking app unless this gets resolved.

I don’t think your developers ever try out your new features.  I just found what seems to be a great feature: recipes. What I’m looking at is sheet pan recipes.  The problem is that you can’t copy the recipe and paste it into an app, like Pages, where I save all of my recipes for future use.

Either you did an update or I figured out how to use the new format a little better.  However, am still not able to delete an entry except by leaving it there and changing the amount to zero.

8/1/2026- I want to give this app a minus 100 stars!
I had given up for a while and then decided to try again in the hope that you had fixed it , but it’s worse than ever.  You still can’t delete an entry that you put on the wrong day because the screen shows one day in one spot and a different day in another spot.
Look at your ridiculous screens!!!  I tried to copy and paste a screen shot but the review doesn’t let me do that.  I’m fed up!

It has become so awkward and confusing to log foods now!  I give up!

Another mess-up.  Now you can’t delete a food entry!  I wanted to copy yesterday’s foods and just delete one of them for today, but the “delete” option is gone…or at least I can’t find it anywhere!  You try to fix one thing and mess up another!  And now I can’t even figure out how to add last night’s dinner!  I’m giving up on this app.  Do you guys ever test your changes to make sure everything that used to work still does?! I’m done!

When you miss a couple of days and want to go back to those days, and you start to enter foods, the app stops showing what date you’re on.

9/16/2025 update: it’s been a long time since I had an issue with this app, but somebody messed up the date area in the Diary section under the top tabs. It shows “today”, but when you touch the left arrow, instead of showing “yesterday”, it shows “tomorrow”, and hitting the right arrow, it  shows “yesterday”.  It’s backwards! If you hit the right or left arrow again, it shows the correct date (2 days before or after).  Needs to be fixed.

This was thee go to app for logging food and exercise but it sucks now. They charge for everything even to use the barcode scanner and often the food I want to log doesn’t exist or the information is incorrect. Also logging exercise is near impossible, they have close to know activities to log. Can’t log standing abs or regular yoga even. So done with you!
