MySubaru FAQ
Is MySubaru free?
Yes, MySubaru is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is MySubaru legit?
⚠️ The MySubaru app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
This app is a fairly basic bit of functionality. Control a few things remotely on my car. How could they mess it up?
Well, since the last big update they did, every time I use it I get all sorts of weird errors and popups. Most of the time it actually starts my car but the errors make it hard to tell.
Nevermind the absurd UX - like how did they make it so complex to either warm up or cool down my car? And why does it limit me to 10 minutes of runtime? It takes longer than that to warm my car some days.
App Issues
My car has been starting itself on 4 separate occasions. it always happens 2x in a row. This morning my app wouldn’t start my car . It said I had 2 windows and a sunroof open but windows were closed and I don’t even have a sunroof .
Meh Apple Watch doesn’t connect
Some of the features are nice. You can personalize the climate settings for cool and heat.
But the connection to the Apple Watch doesn’t work. So that’s disappointing
Great in theory
In practice, the servers have failed to log me in on the coldest day of the year. Not sure what I’m paying for here.
App has been down for hours
It’s a frigid morning and I can’t remote start my car if the App is down. Bad timing.
Falla
Está aplicación apesta, cada rato falla
Great…when it works
Every few days this app will give me a login error, “internal issue” and so it can’t be used. Other times it saying it can’t remote start even when it it logged in, and then suddenly does start (after giving me the error message that it couldn’t). It would be nice if I could actually use the remote start during sub-zero temps which is the whole reason I’m paying for this. Not worth it in the long run and probably will install an aftermarket remote start once this subscription is up.
Unreliable, awful product
Updating review on year 5 of ownership. Same app issues persist. Ridiculous for an app consumers pay for on a vehicle they own. Bring back the key fob start. The app is worthless. The app is nowhere near the quality I expect from Subaru. It is 25 degrees out and once again, I cannot start my car from inside the house or my office because the app won’t load. It instead displays a blank white screen. This happens every few days. I should not have to restart a brand new phone to start my brand new car because the app -that is the only way to remote start the car- is a complete flop.
Only works on nice weather days
Everytime there is bad weather the app cannot log in. I always end up cold and wet waiting for the car to warm up.
Frustrating
Today I can’t even get in to the app and it’s really cold out, that’s why I pay for the app, so I don’t have to manually start the car. I let the app lapse for a while and when I did my key fobs wouldn’t work, I kept changing the battery thinking they were bad, when I resumed paying for the app they started working just fine again. I’m not impressed that this app has such control over my car.
