It has been great in the past, but the latest update has severe lag and connectivity issues. Almost every time I open the app, I need to close and reopen it in order for it to recognize my camera. 
Also, you still cannot connect to WiFi if the network doesn't use a password, like in many hotels. For this reason, Nanit has been useless on many trips away from home.

Overpriced, poor customer support, the device it self is light years from what it says it should do. The basic plan gives you literally nothing or the equivalent of a $20 monitor, the consistently downgrading features from play to plan. We had the premium for one year and they charged us without any notice.

But overall it’s a really nice monitor with night camera, sound, recording option and captions of your baby’s growth.
Pay attention that the camera microphone is super sensitive and it captures sounds from other rooms.

Nanit has been with us for over two years with both our kids. Measuring the breathing feature has saved me a lot of “breathing” checks, especially once they slept on their stomach. The price is so worth it. It’s also easy to travel with. You can see the full sleep history. Also Nanit app gives very good tips based on their ages which we’ve used. Only thing that’s missing for us is the breathing ware in a winter thick sleeping bag. Also historical activity when it’s in the travel stand. Besides that it’s amazing! We’ve recommended it to friends who are also very happy with it.
