Use to love playing images and listening to Third Rock radio but haven’t been able to hear anything for almost a year now. We have two Apple TV’s and both will not play Third Rock radio. It’s unfortunate that there isn’t a better way to notify of this issue. I understand that many developers / businesses can’t economically work through the quantity of misused submissions through a feedback system; unfortunate that honest actionable feedback is hard to leave. Hope you see this NASA App developer's.
Starting about three days ago, the world view map to see the path of ISS does not work. I am using an iPhone 15pro.
Why is it now impossible to find the two NASA live streams in the app? The new UI still sinks. Is there no longer two continuous live streams? One for public and one press? If so they can’t be found in the new UI of the app.
4-3-24 looks like another update and it’s broken again. Every night I look at the new images and send to my sisters with the send icon. Whatever you did recently messed it up again. I can send the picture, but the link used to take them to the APOD site so they could read the description of the picture. Now all it is sending is the picture with no description. Can you fix this? 3-24-24 Another Update: It’s FIXED!! Made some upgrades and wrote to me telling me they hope I like the improvements! I LOVE the improvements! It’s actually like the rolled back to the original version. As they always say - If it ain’t broke - don’t fix it. Can Zoom properly and the description of the picture is on the same page, so you can see what is being described in the picture. Thanks NASA! Update: they fixed the ability to close the picture. Again, nothing changed with my phone, so obviously this was a bug. Also fixed the zoom feature. Do not have to double tap, can zoom straight from the picture on the screen. Now if they would put the description back with the picture instead of on a separate page, we will be golden. This was always my favorite app. No longer. My favorite was the APOD: Astronomy Picture of the Day and other images. Something happened with the interface and I can’t close the picture after opening. I have to completely close the app and reopen in order to look at anything else. That’s a bug. I wrote to the developers and all they could say was my least favorite response: “We are not seeing this issue on any of our test devices”. That really doesn’t matter, because I’m seeing it on my device and I find that response very dismissive. Then they asked me about my phone iOS and model. That also shouldn’t make any difference because the only thing that changed was the app - not my phone. Everything was working fine til they changed the app. The information about the picture is now on a different page. It used to be superimposed over the picture so one could look at the parts of the image being described simultaneously while reading the description. Overall, the new app is very difficult to use and navigate through. Why change a good thing?
I am very happy that they fixed the image widget and made reading the captions on images easy again. After Apollo was killed by Reddit, the broken NASA widget essentially destroyed my Home Screen. And while nothing has brought back the rotating pictures of cuteness from Reddit on my Home Screen, NASA IS BACK! I get my daily reminder of our awesome space agency and just general space and cosmology news. I am so glad they fixed this. I am back to being a daily user again.
Pretty nice app. Please add the capability to add the upcoming live events to our Apple calendar.
The NASA app is amazing because you can watch every rocket launch and there is so much to see! You can even view 3D Models of rockets, look at the sky view which allows you to see all the names of the stars and planets and it shows you which ones are which, you can do a lot of stuff on the app. I totally recommend this app. My dream has been to pass the Kerman line and reach outer space. To feel weightless. I want to explore the universe in all it’s glory. I want to see the earth from above. I want to know the universe’s secrets and how things work. I want to launch rockets and do cool things. So thank you NASA, for making history.
The NASA app is nominal. Thank you!
It's very pretty, but clearly whoever designed it never used the app before. Where is NASA TV? Where is the ISS feed? Even the newest version BURIES things we used to enjoy for a YouTube like experience that no one asked for and has been forced on us. It pains me to rate a NASA app one ⭐️ but it earned it. You have a section for LIVE at the top with nothing live happening in it, except you have a LIVE feed from ISS that is not on the top row, and is hidden at the very bottom of the app on iOS, and completely missing on AppleTV. Please actually ask users what they want and then deliver that. You built an entire app no one is happy with from a totally serviceable app that we loved.
