What a massive increase! Goodbye Navionics and goodbye Garmin. The interface drove me nuts but I was prepared to live with it for the convenience of having a backup navigation tool on my iPad and phone. The latest price increase is over the top so I won’t be back. Note to Garmin; spare me your cut and paste reply and the spiel about it being a “premium boating app”. It isn’t, and your money grab is just that. You have not doubled its value.

Not sure what Garmin did to this app when they took over but it’s nearly unusable now. I know multiple people with the same problem where the app stops tracking after your phone locks or hibernates. You then need to completely restart the app. This can happen many times in a short period of time. Please fix it.

I am very disappointed, I purchased  early 10 years ago, at the time it was a simple once off payment of $16 AUD. Many years years later they brought in a fair yearly payment of $16 a year when then when to $26 a year which I was still happy to pay, with the current pricing of nearly $100 AUD I will not be renewing my subscription. I am very disappointed that Garmin has done that, this bad taste has also made up my decision to not purchase the new Garmin Decent MK3.

Navionics has been problematic for years but I have persisted with it through inertia. Today I renewed my subscription using the App Store. This subscription now does not appear in the app, nor on my Garmin account. I suppose I’ll have to call the 1800 number on Monday and waste time and patience on something that should work instantly.

I have reported some bugs, but it just doesn’t get fixed. Basic function are not working at all times; e.g. showing the correct heading, wrong speed (of by 5 knots over long journeys), not refreshing the screen correctly etc…

This app used to be fantastic and  work perfectly! I have been paying for a subscription since the start and I am not impressed lately. I am starting to look around for an alternative!
Always glitches at the worst time and the thing that’s been getting me lately is that the direction pointer does not lineup with the maps or sometimes it randomly zooms out and you cannot see where you are heading, this is a recent glitch and never used to happen. Also, when I’m using this app it drains my battery and the phone gets very hot!

Great app and the relief shading is a game changer for finding good fishing/spearfishing locations.

An update to make the app available on Apple Watch or the Garmin watch so you can view the relief shading on your watch would be a massive advancement as this would heavily assist spear-fishers to swim around and see where they are on the reefs and also take waypoints on their watch.

Would be an amazing update.

### ***-- "Satellite imagery downhill after V.22.0"
I was enjoying my free trial and definitely want to pay for the annual subscription but! Today after the new update there is only one choice for the satellite imagery whereas yesterday I had two choices. Besides ‘satellite imagery’ as an option yesterday I’m sure I also had ‘Bing’ as an overlay choice and it had much better detail and individual sandbanks were clear and looked current in my area. The sat imagery option now is a blurry mess with all the land being a general light green fuzz all the way to the water’s edge. Please tell me if I subscribe now I will get the Bing option back or is that relationship severed?

### *---- "Expensive and poorly designed!"
Wow the reviews say it all. Navionics have lost their way. Gone for the crazy expensive subscription model and done hardly anything to update the app and make it work for their customers. It’s clear other apps are now taking over due to them not listening to this customer base. I’m a commercial captain and professional mariner and have had Navionics and many other marine navigation apps since the iphone and iPad came out in 2007/2009 and have been more and more disappointed with Navionics every year. Paid good money to buy the original chart folios for areas such as US East Coast, Caribbean, SE Asia, Pacific and so on but as they’ve moved to a subscription based system I’m no longer able to access and use my old chart folios which to me is poor service. The app also loses detail when you zoom out so when doing long passages, routing for thousands of miles and ocean crossing you cant see islands and shallow areas which makes doing route planning with this app incredibly dangerous especially if you don’t know this and understand the apps limitations. Apps like iSailor are far better as you buy a chart folio for an area and are able to own and download the full folio without needing a yearly subscription to access your charts. It seems that Navionics have lost their way. If only they allowed full download of areas once paid for and for you to be able to access your full chart folios once they’re paid for without the need for yearly subscriptions I’d be happy to write a more positive review.

I use to use the older version and haven’t used this for awhile, maybe the price!
Decided to repurchase as I wanted to check distances and different routes.( I don’t own a boat I paddle outrigger canoes)
I’m having trouble with this as I plan on plotting a course while sitting at home.
Whenever I do it tracks back to me! How do I turn that off, and it will not go the straight line direction I want to go, it goes around the longer route as it identifies shallow water.
This needs turning off as well.
Never had this problem with the earlier version.

There is zero support for this app when problems occur.

When offline, even when maps were download the app refused to start claiming maps needed updated and then crashed.

Apparently it will work on any mobile device with 1 subscription.  Doesn’t work.  Sent an email with no response.
