Way to expensive now
When I first started using it this it was about $30 a year, now it looked like it’s gone up to $80. Not worth it for the small area we use it in

Seems like the same app. For triple the subscription price, there are still only 5 colours for Fishing Ranges. There’s likely still a 1,000 marker cap. I have well over 2,000 markers for hazards and fish across numerous lakes. In just Southern Ontario alone, some of the same lakes are still without charts. How can an increase of 3x be justified if these limitations (previously $24CAD) remain in place? That is not “Premium”. I will gladly update my review if these issues can be addressed.
I paid the $80 which is already ridiculously over priced, the app no longer works as it used to, I resubscribed to this junk to help navigate during a derby and it failed me. Downloaded maps before, not that it mattered there was solid cell signal everywhere. Left me blind, I regret the decision to pay that money.
I paid for charts, now when I go to download them I am not allowed, and instead have to subscribe. Very disappointed in Navionics business ethics. Switching platforms.
Navionics used to be a decent price for being one of the more user friendly but feature lacking mapping apps. Now at $79CAD per year, it’s not even close to worth it. There are many cheaper and more feature packed apps available, don’t waste your hard earned money on this ripoff.
I have been using this app for over 10 years. Now after an update this year the app requires you to have an active subscription to even view charts which you have already paid for… Edit: See developers reply for a perfect example of how this company has gone downhill. They knowingly implemented an update that would cause users to lose access to maps without first informing them in order to force them to buy the subscription. Shame.
2024.06.17 things seem be be up and running again. auto guidance looks to be quicker than it was. 4 stars, as, like most people say, the new price being 3x the old is a bit steep, but it does provide lots of good features. 2024.06.15 well, it did work there for a bit, but it's broken, again. 2023.08.15 this app worked brilliantly for this season. a bunch of new features that were both interesting and informative. i'm glad they got the bugs out. 2022.11.16 in a desperate attempt to remedy the continuing worsening problems after the last update i completely deleted the app and all associated data. i also deleted all my saved routes and waypoints. (i run the app on my phone and ipad - routing data is kept in the cloud and will reload when you log in.) after reloading everything from scratch, the app appears to be functioning as it should now. i still have some playing to do as per map updates and working offline but so far so good. i raise my rating from 0 stars to three. if the app turns out to be as reliable as the original this rating will go to 5 again. ——————— this app used to have it all. now not usable without internet connection. oh, it lets you download all your maps but seems to need to download more whenever you want to edit an old route or plan a new route. previous planning functionality has also been lost. i suspect that this might be remedied. i have given this app 5 stars in past and have virtually lived on it when cruising. now i'm looking for something else. note: make sure you test ALL your planned routes BEFORE you leave home and fast internet. there are many 'hidden' downloads required not included in the 'update maps' function. just downloaded an additional 4Gb of 'hidden' map data to get me from the Broughtons to Bella Bella. very slow and uses up your data allowance.
This has been a great app. The feature we like best is the auto-routing function which is a fantastic planning tool. Now this is broken. And they have increased the price more than thrice. Not a chance, we will not be renewing without some sense that the functionality returns.
Your recent price increases are absolutely not in line with inflation or an increase in capabilities. I suspect you have lost many previous subscribers never to return. Used to be a useful app. But I’ll look elsewhere as well.
Years ago I acquired Navionics for navigation in Canada. I did enjoy the system very much. Now I am loosing all accessibility to what I paid for unless I subscribe to Navionics at a ridiculous expensive price. I am leaving Navionics for good and for that I just need to export my route and Marks. Well! To have access to the export function I need to pay the one year subscription of about $79.00 cad. Thanks god I was sharing my route with a friend that still have a few months left on his 2023 subscription. My route and Marks were enter on other navigation apps and I will never go back to Navionics. Beware, use other navigation apps that play fair game. There is many out there, like Time-Zero, I-boat, isailer, c-Map Embark, iNavX, SeaPilot Etc……….
