Constant issues

AnthonyButters on

I have near constant technical issues. I’ve paid money to watch games but for one reason or another it’s unplayable so I’ve just donated money to the NBA. It’s been like this for years.

Love the app, also good to be able to catch up on games and have it at a finger tips reach.

Casting does not work

Do not purchase league pass if you intend to cast to your tv. The quality is unwatchable.

Frustrated

Bought the pass last year and I could watch any game. Now I can’t even watch a game that was 1 month ago without it stopping.

Consistently getting worse

JoshwaKatzio on

First off, the video quality is very poor. I can easily stream in high definition from other platforms, but NBA is always buffering and quitting during important moments of the game. You get a better user experience from illegally streaming games than paying for league pass. In years gone by, during game breaks, you had access to the view of the in arena cameras and the jumbotron, so you could really feel like you were at the game. Now they just show a screen with “game break”, or give you un-skippable ads that you have to pay an extra $100 to remove. Then, most annoying of all - they have removed the ability to cast. The chrome cast button still shows, but instead of showing available devices, it asks you to enter a pin. You enter the pin and it does nothing. Why are they constantly doing everything to make their service worse? It is so frustrating. If it aint broke dont fix it. Oh and the customer service team does absolutely nothing to help resolve the issues. They take forever to respond, and when they do its just useless information copy pasted from a script. Do better NBA. If you want to appeal to the younger generation you need to fix your hopeless app.

Honest Review

The app has some nice features but reverts to Spanish broadcast as the default play and doesn’t allow you to start watching from specific quarters. Can be buggy which requires a restart at beginning of the game.

Microsoft has made the app terrible

Bringbackchat234 on

After Microsoft took over the app design, this app has been almost unusable at points. The developers have prioritised making the app more of a media app rather than being functional for a user looking to keep up with games (which should be the primary purpose). Streaming in the nba app is now awful. The app in the phone is laggy and on consols the app is constantly quitting out of the games. Recently the setting to turn of autoplay has now stopped working completely. It is very difficult to look up stats in the app now, with the app opening up a link to a webpage(?) rather than showing directly in the app. A lot of the time the page will not load what you have clicked, but will go to the stats homepage making it useless searching in the app. The app has gone back to a US time - the date doesn’t show the date local time for global users. A plethora of issues for what is supposed to be the next gen of the app - feels like it has just gone backwards to fit their vision for the app. Microsoft has not executed their design well at all. The cost of the nba streaming package is also just not worth it because the app is terrible.

Games play eventually

Such a buggy annoying app when you play via connection to your TV. Hard to manage but you have to put up with it I guess

not worth it

slow, bad quality complicated just to chrome cast a game which will be laggy anyways. What am I paying for?

Billion dollar company with a $5 app

This app is probably the worst streaming app I’ve used, buggy, terrible quality, and just overall terrible
