INSTRUCTIONS
Draft your team (the more you play, the more players you unlock!)
Roll the dice and solve a series of math problems. Your answers will let you know who on your roster can take a shot... make sure to beat the clock! The odds are based on real-world player stats so choose your team wisely.
Now it’s time for your opponent’s turn - you’re on defense! Time for strategy, you can steal and foul.
Just like a real basketball game, hit the most shots and you win!

NBA Math Hoops leverages the game of basketball and the NBA/WNBA brands to develop algebra readiness and youth development competency through physical and digital basketball-themed games, classroom curricula, and a community event series - primarily engaging students in grades 4-8 across in-school, out-of-school, and home learning environments. The curriculum is mapped to the Common Core Standards and 21st Century Learning Skills and is a nationally approved math curriculum for the Boys and Girls Club of America. As an Out of School advocate, I really enjoyed the app. I loved not having to wait too long to play against my opponent. It gave me enough time to focus on the math. It was easier to use on my laptop, desktop and tablet. The font and images were challenging to navigate on my phone but shouldn’t be for our young people since they live on their phones!

This app has been an amazing addition for my students. The app allows my students to integrate technology in their learning. The app has great features and it’s played just like the board game. The great thing about the app is it also assists you by giving you suggestions and it it explains the rules, which is great for those that are new to the game. I’ve seen my students very engaged in the app and become more confident in their math skills. They truly love math hoops and this app has contributed to their academic progress. Which is always what we want as educators.
