The NBIR Barcode Scanner is a HIPAA-compliant app that can be used to assist NBIR participants with the data entry. The primary functionality of the app is to scan and decode both linear and 2D breast implant device barcodes to push the data contained within the barcode to the NBIR. NBIR Participants can also use the app to enter additional details related to the patient, procedure, and the implanted and/or explanted device.
The app can help participants eliminate the data entry burden by auto-populating device data elements into the registry.
The NBIR is a collaboration between The Plastic Surgery Foundation, the FDA, and breast implant device manufacturers for the purpose of strengthening the post-market surveillance infrastructure for current and future breast implant devices. The NBIR is a prospective, non-interventional, population-based, outcomes, and safety surveillance registry and quality improvement initiative. For more information, please visit thepsf.org/NBIR

Have had to reinstall twice
The app has now filed to scan more than twice. Each time they have made me delete the app and reinstall it. Meanwhile they insist there is no problem with the app, even when once under the direct supervision of their tech support it failed to scan.
Oh, and since their tech support is in India you have to get help on their timeline, not yours.
