## NCE Exam Prep 2026 Description
Authentic Questions. Badges, Streaks, and Levels Built In.

Practice on NCE-style questions written to match the current 2026 exam. Same formats, same tone, same trap answers. So test day feels familiar. Explanations that turn confusion into confidence.

Every other Prep App out there stops at a question bank. We don’t. Streaks, badges, achievements, and level-ups build momentum, reward progress, and keep you coming back! So you actually finish your study plan instead of ghosting it.

EZ Prep’s NCE Study App is the fastest, smartest, and least emotionally exhausting way to study for the National Counselor Exam. It’s packed with actual exam-level questions, clear explanations that won’t give you flashbacks to Psych 101, and study tools that work whether you're on the couch, at work, or pretending to meditate in the bath.

Yes, it’s based on Rosenthal’s Purple Book
Yes, it follows the 2026 NBCC guidelines
Yes, we included CPCE content too because you’re clearly a glutton for punishment

Created by real certified counselors who actually passed the test (and didn’t just vibe their way through it), the app covers all 8 CACREP core areas and 6 NBCC domains. You’ll get real questions, not random trivia, and a timed exam simulator to help you panic in a controlled environment.

Here’s what’s inside, besides creeping self-doubt:

• Human growth and development
• Social and cultural diversity
• Counseling and helpful relationships
• Group counseling and group work
• Career counseling
• Professional counseling orientation and ethical practice
• Assessment and testing
• Research and program evaluation
• Professional practice and ethics
• Intake, assessment, and diagnosis
• Areas of clinical focus
• Treatment planning
• Counseling skills and interventions
• Core counseling attributes

Features you’ll actually use:

• Personalized onboarding so the app meets you where you are, emotionally and academically
• Streaks and achievements to validate your existence one quiz at a time
• Instant feedback with clear explanations so you learn without needing a therapist yourself
• Timed exam simulator to practice under pressure, minus the fluorescent lighting
• Progress tracking so you can stop guessing whether you're ready and actually know

Try it risk free. We give you a free version to try before committing, because we know you’re not into toxic relationships.

Pass Guarantee Included. We’re so confident in our material that if you don’t pass your exam, we’ll give you 100 percent of your money back. Plus, you get a free subscription until you do. Check our terms for the fine print, but yes, we mean it.

Download the app that future counselors actually trust and stop relying on outdated PDFs or advice from a Reddit thread that peaked in 2016.

EZ Prep is not affiliated with the NBCC or CACREP. But we fully support their mission to create well-prepared, ethical counselors who definitely pass the NCE on the first try. Or at least pretend they did.

## NCE Exam Prep 2026 Reviews in United States

### ***** "NCE Exam"
This was a great app that help me understand terminology, stages, theories, ethics, interventions, and all areas within the NCE exam while still using other materials. This app alongside the Encyclopedia of Counseling (purple book; Rosenthal) was a great combination of understanding material. I passed my exam using these tools.
-- TopHitta, 2025-07-21

### ***** "Good app"
This is getting me started on studying for the test. It’s been great so far.
-- JPM4189, 2025-07-19

### ***** "I thought I knew, yet I am humbled"
This application helps me apply knowledge with case studies and attain appropriate clinical definitions with repetition.

I am overjoyed and hopeful I can pass!
-- xxxxxxxxxxxxiiiiiiiiiieeeeeee, 2025-07-16

### ***** "Passed The NCE"
This app is worth it!
-- MissJessieMac, 2025-04-25

### ***** "Very helpful!"
I passed my NCE this week!! I found the questions to be very similar to what you’d find on the NCE. The subscription is worth it. Also consider: 1) NCE Study guide podcast (Glenn Ostlund) 2) Using chatGPT to help write a study guide.
-- Worldtraveler1235, 2025-04-17

### ***** "The Best by Far"
Tip: The Vignettes are going to help you practice reading, deciphering, and answering questions that will be on the NCE. The format of the Vignette questions closely resemble how the test questions will be posed. When you come across a question you got wrong, immediately find whatever book you are using to study to read about the term/topic.
-- AKhameleon, 2025-04-16

### **--- "Ad spam"
I had a 4 day streak and was really enjoying the app and then on the fifth day it kept telling me to buy the full experience. I have other tools but i started my day with this app to study and move on. Can’t answer 10-15 questions or any. Everything you click bombards you with ads.
-- wanttopass, 2025-04-09

### ****- "I passed the CPCE with 102/136"
This is my first review of any app. This app had some question on the CPCE word for word!!! This app really covers all the content and gives you great feedback. I used this app a week before the test and felt like I had learned as much in a week with this app then a year of studying the purple book. The !!!ONLY!!!reason I did not give it 5 stars is because after i bought a week of the paid version I could not use the free aspect of the app anymore. Anything I touched in the app asked me to paid for the premium version.
-- Daggie619, 2025-03-31

### *---- "Disappointed with Inconsistent Answers for my nce prep"
Seeing so many positive reviews, I was tempted to try this app for my NCE prep. However, I’m disappointed. I have the Purple Book, and I’ve noticed several conflicting answers between the app and the book. This has made studying frustrating, as I’m unsure which source to trust. I was hoping for a more reliable study tool.
-- sarah.bennett.xo, 2025-03-30

### **--- "Was okay until the ads"
Says you can use it to study for free but that’s a lie cause after a couple of time using it it says I have to pay to use it totally a scam
