I took the plunge by creating an account and making a deposit. So far so good. They offer “perks” which you can then redeem for cash-back. They now have more partnerships with different places (just make sure to check on the app and enable location for search your area) so that you can get receive perks, the catch…it’s costs from $1.99 to $9.99 for premium plus there’s a monthly fee of $5 to use your own money which is not ideal. Other than that it’s a great credit “secured” credit option if you’re looking to build/re-establish your credit. Some top banks require you to have over 600 credit rating. PLUS: there’s no credit checks or credit hits when applying. To apply is very simple. So far I’m a happy customer and their App is good too. My wife did it in 20 minutes in Scotia bank branch. For me: 1) I asked for money withdrawal. In a couple of business days I received form to fill. 2) filled the form asked them for the next day withdrawal. They replied - it will take 7 business days… 3) It’s been 10 business days. And nobody replies back to me. In their “chat” they redirect me to specialist… and nobody replies. So I guess I will pay double tax on my money. After 3 months of building credit I notice that I owe them $10? I call them, and find out that they snuck in a $60 annual fee paid monthly one week after me agreeing to their NO ANNUAL FEE account. My choice was to either cancel the account and thus loose my credit history, longest account etc, or be stuck paying their fees. This was a shady move and I’m not happy. If they want to change an account, they should keep the people that previously signed up under the agreement that there wouldn’t be a holding fee grandfathered in. A month ago, someone broke into my car and stole several items. Thanks to Neo, I was able to track the thief's location to where they were using my cards. I was able track the location down and alert the police in time to recover my belongings. No other banking app I have offers a feature like this, and without Neo, I wouldn’t have been able to retrieve what was stolen.
