Excellent bit of kit easy to install works a treat

Typical Netgear

As is common with netgear this app is super buggy and rarely does what you want it to.

Impossible to connect wifi printer

Pedr o Nefyn on

United Kingdom

I used an Hp inkjet printer for many years, and was never able to connect it to my Netgear Nighthawk mesh system. Many other devices, such as Internet radio, Amazon stick, phones, iPads and laptops connected without a problem. I recently bought a new printer, an HP Inktank 7005, thinking that by now the tech would be better, but still cannot connect it to WiFi. Surely there is a solution to this.

Poor

MisterC1971 on

United Kingdom

The setup instructions are fixated on bridging between the existing modem router and the Netgear router, as if everyone is stuck on ADSL. If you have Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) and an ONT box acting as the modem, the setup makes absolutely no sense and you end up trawling forums to double check what you need to do. Seems you can just plug the router straight into the ONT box. Then after all that, you need your PPPoE details to establish a broadband connection, and these are being rejected. Yet to establish where the fault lies there, but overall this has not been a slick first experience with Netgear at all.

Setup of new device treats like your dumb

Podycust on

United Kingdom

The app works well but the setup process is super infuriating if you have any tech knowledge or have ever setup a router in the past! Without options to skip the wait screens for device that was already to be setup (all boot) you waste so much time! There needs to be an expert mode for setup!!!!

Absolute garbage

DannyMacDJ on

United Kingdom

I bought the Netgear Nighthawk are 8000p downloaded the app and could not download the security update for the router the issue persists to this. They still nothing was done by the company to resolve the issue. There isn’t even a resolution online. Customer Services were absolutely useless just diabolical. I absolutely swore by Netgear products previously but this was garbage. Absolute waste of a lot of money will never buy a product from them again I don’t think. I even connected the router to my PC via Land cable and tried updating the router from a web browser and that still also failed so it was leaving my home network vulnerable to hackers and I was stuck on the previous version of the firmware with a constant reminder to update it

Cost fortune nothing but trouble

was i ever good at this ?! on

United Kingdom

It cost a fortune. It’s never been really that good of extending things a long way and then every now and then it just stops working and I’m less spending hours. Trying to figure out what to do with it.

Cannot login

Mike_!!! on

United Kingdom

Update: Cannot login the app now at all. Just get the message below. "Logon timed out, please try again. If this issue persists, try rebooting your device." Well done Netgear -------- Every update forces me to login again but most of the time doesn't let me. I know the password is correct because I can login to the router directly from my browser. Sort it out Netgear PS. I don't want to reboot the router for every update

Bridge mode not supported

cptchford on

United Kingdom

Takes a long time waiting (and failing) to connect before you can see that bridge mode isn’t supported
