The New Testament is centered on the Christ, Jesus of Nazareth and how the early church was birthed. The New Testament is the accomplishment and fulfillment of God’s promise to Israel that He would send a Messiah to save them all. And this promise of God had been extended to the whole world through the Apostle Paul who was called to preach this Good News to the Gentiles.
The four Gospel writers give us the life accounts of Jesus Christ from birth to resurrection. Each of these writers has a unique perspective and style but compliments the testimony pertaining to the Savior.
The Book of Acts cover the stories of the first church after Jesus Christ resurrected from the dead and ascended into heaven. It is also in this portion of the New Testament where the Holy Spirit first came upon the lives of the believers and demonstrated the power of God inside them, as Jesus Christ had promised. And it is in this book that Saul converted into Paul and was called by God to preach about Christ.
The Letters of the Apostle Paul entails Paul’s new life and adventure in Christ, as well as his messages and letters to the Churches. His letters contain specific and unique messages pertaining to certain issues the church were facing which of it still lingers in today’s generation. Paul’s messages were mostly encouragements, warnings, words of wisdom and faith.
The General Epistles and Revelation – A mixture of writers such as the Apostle John, Timothy (Paul’s spiritual son in Christ), the Apostle Paul, James, Peter and Jude. The writings all have their unique messages pertaining to the revelation of Jesus Christ, lifestyle of faith accompanied by works, encouragements during trials and tough times, warnings about distortion of God’s grace and the victorious end that good will overcome evil through Christ Jesus.
