NewsTap is a powerful Usenet Newsreader for the iPad, iPhone and the iPod Touch.
Features:
- Optimized for offline usage, so you can read and write news articles without an internet connection
- It's easy and simple to subscribe, manage and read news groups.
- Filters (also known as "Killfile") can automatically mark articles as read or mark them with a certain color.
- The application fully supports the portrait and landscape mode.
- Support for binary groups (photos and other files). Photos and pictures can be displayed directly. It's possible to add photos into the photo album or open them in other Apps.
- Quotes are displayed in different colors. Colors are also used to distinguish between read and unread articles, filtered articles.
- Hyperlinks are automatically detected and can be opened in a web browser.
- Optimized article layout for the small iPhone display. The original article layout is also available.
- Navigate within the articles from within the thread view or simply by flipping to the next/previous article with your finger.
- A graphical „tree view“ visualizes a complete discussion and makes it super-easy to follow and participate discussions.
- It's possible to hide articles that are already read and to hide quotes.
- Sync the read/unread states of the articles using a „newsrc“ file with other usenet client. The sync can be done via SFTP, WebDAV, Dropbox and iCloud.

Det virker meget fint.Jeg har længe været afskåret fra macsoup. så det er godt at få en læser til iphonen jesper0
Øv - virket tilsyneladende ikke????
Super ide med usegroup på fonen, men jeg kan bare ik komme på fx TDCs 'news.tele.dk' hvor jeg har mit abb. Og ej heller på andrea nyhedsservere TDC henviser til Telia som ik ka problemet. Og programudvikleren har heller ingen løsning men henviser bare til TDC pga TDCs fejlmelding: Logon denied. Surt show.
The app I have missed!!!
Well there is still room for improvement, specially I would like to have more than one news server listet, but I have to change the server in preferenc. Andt that is the reason for only 4 and not 5 stars.
Memory problem?
My news provider has +30.000 groups up and all are retrievable through a normal news reader. But this program stops recieving the list around 13.000. I suspect its a memory problem? The debug log doesnt give any info on what went wrong.
Excellent newsreader application
This application is *great*. I have used usenet readers in many (10+) years, and this application is handling all I want of a reader. At the same time all the iPhone gestures are implemented. Perfect!

Loaded articles once, then they disappeared
After that articles won’t load again, tried following steps in the support section and no luck. Wish I could get my money back.
Works just fine
I have no idea what others are complaining about. Possibly setup wrong. Anyways, I use this every day now, after being away from Usenet for many years. It’s fast, the layout is fine on the iPad screen and it is easy to navigate. A bargain at $4.
Works on the M1 !!
