I’ve had this app for over 5 years now. I watch around 3 shows weekly. I couldn’t be happier with it. A multifaceted experience of Japanese culture, in English (spoken and subtitles). Some of the most informative and thoughtful programming anywhere. The on-demand program list is regularly updated. My preferred shows are Design Talks Plus, Japanology Plus, 72 Hours, Cycling Around Japan and Hometown Stories. My absolute favorite is Somewhere Street. The player is simple but always reliable. It includes skip forward and back and screen-in-screen. Please continue this high quality and valuable service! The inspiration and insight it provides is deeply appreciated.

I watch nhk daily. I am very disappointed that I can no longer watch it on my old iPad. I get the “update” notification, but cannot update to new version. So frustrating, as I love many nhk programmes esp the documentaries and news

This is an amazing app!! As a Japanese language learner, I spend hours looking at these resources. I especially like the program of news with easy stories. I learn a lot watching these and they’re very interesting because they discuss Japanese culture and events. I am working my way through the documentaries, which have all been excellent. I also downloaded the app to my Apple TV, and it works really well. Thank you for an amazing app!

If NHK the national broadcaster can't update the app to play on Cromecast then is in a sad state. I once suggested a change to their world weather to show where cities were and they updated that quickly but I never got a thank you for a great idea so I never gave them any more.  With a shrinking population and problems growing is sad.

On latest Apple TV build with latest NHK app version. When you browse content and look at program details the back button takes you back to Apple TV home page rather than allowing you to go back to browse nhk content. Means the Apple TV has to restarted each time. This happens in both Apple TV I have to clearly an app issue.

The app includes the cast to chrome cast feature but it doesn’t work. Please update this as it will make the experience so much better.

I got the live feed (use the icon in lower right on the screen) to work with Google Chromecast, but only after uninstalling the app and reinstalling. On Demand viewing isn’t castable, so you’ll have to use your tablet, laptop or PC for that - and more shows are available on the website (not this app) anyway! I love being able to watch the live feed on my TV by casting: I don’t need Pay TV to watch my favourite channel any more!

Great app to tune into a variety of programs. Really enjoy having live stream and also the on demand programs. One thing, the latest update of the app won’t allow casting via chrome cast for on demand programs, only live feed, it would be good to have this fixed as soon as possible.
