Guess Who Reviews

Why Bother?

kewpierluvr on

The concept of this app is absolutely amazing, but the fact you can’t even give one of the lessons a crack unless you’re willing to start a subscription is ridiculous. Also not to mention that it is not specified in any of the advertising that you have to pay to even have an idea of the app.

Poor Service

Isolatedd x on

Australia

This app is so poor and they charged me even after cancelling a subscription. $149.99 is a crazy amount to pay for something so rubbish. Never been so angry before.

Misleading unsubscribing process

Jessieapigeon on

Australia

The unsubscribing process in the website is misleading, already pressed unsubscribe button, but it shows up 2 buttons, skip or provide feedback, I pressed skip and thought it was cancelled. But my bank is still charged with the subscription on start of next month. You have to provide feedback, answer multiple feedback questions then another cancel subscription button will show up. Besides there weren’t much content in there, I finish my interested topic only within a few days. Feels like this is just a scam that uses ‘learning app’ to scam away ppls money

New Way to Learn

Having only completed one lesson. The information is broken down in easy to read chunks. Making it easier to understand the lesson given.

Basically a scam

I don’t recommend - it’s glitchy, and the amount you pay is not worth the quality of the lessons, you can get better stuff for free or cheaper elsewhere. Also, they’re super dodgy - they don’t make clear what they’re going to charge you, and trick you into purchasing add ons that you think are free as part of the main subscription

Don’t Bother

I love this concept! But unfortunately to do anything in the app, it requires a purchase. If this company was truly trying to create an app that competes with other social media “doom scroll” apps, then it needs to take a page from their book and let it be free. Of course someone would choose TikTok over this app. They don’t need to pay. There is also no similar “scroll” mechanic like other social media apps. I would think to compete, there would be a section where you could scroll and learn. People want things given to them quickly, not needing to make a decision amongst so many lessons. Make it a free, social media platform where as you scroll based on your interests, you learn. Feels like an educational app my parents would have made me download in school to improve my grades. Make it fun and a serious competitor! Again, love this idea, but so far it’s executed very poorly. As of now, don’t bother.

Intriguing and interesting

Easy to read and understand. Kept my interest going after each lesson

This is a scam - Charged immediately for “free trial” period.

I came on to write an unbiased review, but on cancelling my subscription within a few hours of trialling it, I can see that I’ve been charged for two months’ of use. Absolutely outraged - this feels like a scam. As others have said, it’s a great idea for an app - but unfortunately the setup is by far the most sophisticated part. After you’ve agreed to a subscription payment, the lessons effectively become a summary of topics, with very little interaction or revision to actually cement the knowledge. I’d be sorry for being mean to the developers, but reading other reviews it doesn’t feel like much has been done to improve this consistent feedback. I’d recommend downloading the Wikipedia app instead - it’s free and at least honest about asking for payment.

Not free

SmudgeCat on

Australia

I am annoyed that I went through a very lengthy set up only at the end to be asked for payment. No mention anywhere (that I saw) beforehand that there was a subscription requirement. If that had been more obvious upfront I wouldn’t feel so annoyed. I’m tired of the subscription model where uses are expected to pay for eternity. Remember how it used to be - when you paid one time and then owned a thing.

Better use of time than Socials

OllyMP on

Absorbing bite size bits of information improves my mood and makes me feel more relaxed, as supposed to just scrolling through social media. A much better way to spend your downtime!!
