## Nick — Presence Description
Nick is a live, one-on-one chat app designed around presence and simplicity.

Conversations on Nick are active only while both participants are inside the chat screen. When you leave the chat or background the app, messages are cleared from your device.

How Nick works

- One-on-one conversations
- End-to-end encryption
- No chat history
- Messages are not stored on servers
- Text, images, short videos, and audio
- Screenshot and app-switch protection where supported

Presence-based chat

Both participants must be inside the chat at the same time.
If a participant leaves the chat screen, their session ends and messages are removed.

Simple notifications

Nick sends minimal push notifications to let you know someone would like to start a conversation. Notifications do not include message content.

Designed for privacy

Nick is built to reduce data retention and provide a simple, real-time communication experience.

Nick is intended for respectful and lawful communication.
