Noom Weight Loss FAQ
Is Noom Weight Loss free?
Yes, Noom Weight Loss is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Noom Weight Loss legit?
🤔 The Noom Weight Loss app's quality is mixed. Some users are satisfied, while others report issues. Consider reading individual reviews for more context.
I was feeling hopeful when I bought the membership but boy I was very disappointed with the app.
1) it added a whole days food and it showed it came from MyFitnessPal.
2) it doesn’t let you choose your goals once. You have to input them daily.
3) I couldn’t add the activity goal because my smartwatch was linked to the app.
Major work needs to be done . I volunteer to do beta testing if you want.
Gained weight
After a month on the program, I moved from 212 pounds to 214. There’s good info and it feels good, but it’s not effective
Scam charges
This app charged me for a year subscription even though I canceled during the trial because the app was buggy and would not let me contact support. When I contacted them after I received a renewal notice, they acknowledged that I had not used the app in over a year, but would not refund the charge. During my trial, the app gave bad information that caused me to gain weight quickly. Noom preys on people in a desperate situation and hopes you won’t notice as they keep charging you.
Second round
I love Noom. It works. I lost 53 lbs. during Covid using this program. I was able to maintain it for a while …until life popped up and knocked my off course.
With a new diagnosis of Diabetes this summer, I knew exactly what I needed to do. I signed right back up for Noom and was pleasantly surprised to see that they have an aging program, for perimenopausal and menopausal women, and they have courses designed for Diabetics, and those who take medication to manage their blood sugar —I use Metformin. I started in earnest on the 4th of July and one month and 5 days later, I’m down 13 lbs, my blood sugar is controlled and I feel a million times better.
Noom reminds me to make time for myself to take care of myself. It helps me to make small changes over time that are sustainable and are already impacting my physical and mental health in so many positive ways.
App lagging
60% when I pop in to log food, that part of the app isn’t working it’s frustrating as a busy working mom trying to get all the things done. For the price everything should be slicker.
Super mad
On Wednesday, I went to my doctor and told her how much I loved Noom and that I would do it for the rest of my life. Then that same night the app changed and I couldn’t understand it. I was on with Support and they couldn’t help me and they told me to call in the morning.
I called the next day which was yesterday and they told me I canceled my subscription in May. Mind you it is August.
I had it set for auto renew and it already auto renewed once so why would I cancel it? I don’t even know how to cancel it.
I’m super upset because I can’t get a hold of anybody and nobody can help me and I had a great price. I’ll change the review from one star to five stars if somebody gets a hold of me and they decide they’d like to keep my business. In the meantime, I’m losing track of my momentum..
What a joke!
Noom is a joke! I paid for an entire year to get the full benefits. Now my doctor says I can’t so this program and Noom wont give me a pro-rated refund. This program doesn’t help people…they just want your money!
Was dubious but have loved it
I was dubious about this app but have really loved it. It’s a great mix of minimal investment on a daily basis but also substantive comment and help
Frustrating tools
While Noom is fairly helpful, I am endlessly frustrated by the categorizing of food. When I scan a barcode in the success kit, something will be listed as “yellow.” Then when I put it in for a logged meal, it is “orange.” There are also multiple entries for items and no real way to differentiate. I have followed directions and flagged problems, but this happens too often.
Great Beginning!
It’s only been a few days and I’ve already lost 3lbs. Sounds like a small amount, but for months now I’ve only been loosing a pound or half pound a week if any, so I am delighted at this progress!
