How much does Noom Weight Loss cost?
Noom Weight Loss has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is 389.99 lei.
The first month it was all good. After iOS update I lost some data which could have been easily stored in noom's cloud. Food search is a mess. You cannot properly add food that doesnt exist. Only calories, no portion sizes. You cannot browse theough past days properly. App freezes on a daily basis and I have to close it and open it again. Stress score data is lost after app reinstall. I like the lessons, the food coloring, the meal division breakfast, snack, etc. It's not worth 25EUR/mo.
Update: most days app will freeze and I cannot even delete my account.
The only thing that stopped the binge
After 20+ years this was the only thing that stopped the binge eating.
Is is perfect? No.
Did I manage to hold on to my progress an entire year without it through one of the most stressful times of my life? Yep.
Kudos to everybody that worked on it.
You guys are amazing.
Payed and can’t access- Want to CANCEL
I payed the minimal amount in order to get access to my 14 days free trial and can’t access the app because it gets me to do the quiz again and again and at the end makes me pay AGAIN. I chose the trail because I wanted to make a choice between this app and another. Very, very disappointed and I’m now scared that it will take the full amount for the entire subscription even if I don’t have the access to this app and the trial just started in theory. I’ve written to them on instagram and I’m waiting for a response because I want to cancel everything. Disappointing to say the least of this shady behaviour. I don’t know how they have this high rating.
Tried it, cancelled after 3 days, but I would recomment it if it had some improvements
So I downloaded this app because the concept seemed cool. I also have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in psychoterapy, CBT-related.
I like the concepts, I like the app, I think it would definitely help some people, but it needs some improvement before it’s worth the money (because it IS quite expensive):
- Weighing should actually (science-based, from what I learned in college) encouraged once a week, not daily
- Food Database should update automaticallt when you upload a product. I live in Romania, so most of the products/food I use are not in the database and it’s 3 times more time-consuming to upload everything in a day, then do it all over again the other day
- The user interface is not very friendly - it could be more organized in a menu-type, rather than an “endless” (I’m exaggerating) scrolling
What I loved about it:
- It provides a weight loss range rather than a “stay under this calorie number” - which I think is enocouraging for most people and keeps them motivated
- CBT-based, even though there could be some improvements
Overall, if you only need something for calorie tracking, I’d recommend you try something else. If you want something CBT-based, I’d recommend seeing a psychotherapist first, but this app might do the trick if you don’t have money or time to invest in a therapist.
big NO
Not only that this app is useless, it also has one of worst marketing strategies I ever saw. It feels like they are fishing for the fool who would pay the most.
If you uninstall the app without cancelling your subscription they charge your credit card without any previous notification. There should legal consequences for misleading users like this!
Any other app that respects its users won’t do this.
I would give 0 stars if it would be possible and it would still be too much.
This is BS
You’re prompted to log all your meals in a day, but their calories values are way off. I’ve double checked a few items with the product labels nutritional information and Noom’s values are not at all accurate.
DO NOT INSTALL - SPAM
The app is absolutely no use. Do not install it. Since I registered I keep receiving SPAM messages. They may have sold information to third parties.
Scam
Both webpage and the app not transparent and the sole purpose is to trick you to subscribe. Stay away !!!
Scam
It’s Totally scam & Fake, Please do not fall into this. They are unnecessary charging the money without your consent. It’s scam.
Review after first month of Noom
I have started Noom on the 1st day of the year with great enthusiasm. It appealed to me through its long term approach, focusing on creating healthy habits, conscious eating and life stile.
Its combination of classic methods-weight every day, logging meals to count daily calories with philological approach -digging on why, how, when we eat, understanding the emotional drivers, as well as the physical ones, is very balanced and so tailored to my style.
I like the equilibrium in the method, with no forbidden foods, constant encouragements.
But…
Once the enthusiasm of the beginning drops, I find is difficult to maintain focus.
The information you get is also very densed and more time should be dedicated to put it into practice.
You are not given this time…new information is given every day, but there are no checks if previous tips were put into practice.
At this moment of the course I feel the need of a coach following my evolution and giving some directions and feedback.
I also do not have a view of the courses…how long they will take, what are the main chapters..that view will help understanding how everything will work together.
In conclusion, I think the whole idea of the application is great, but putting it into practice should be more structured and Noomers given more tailored made support and guidance.
